How in the world for 8 yrs. Can this go on for such a huge amount. Someone was definitely not paying attention! Like the state? She should have to sell her stuff she spent all this on like, house, cars, jewelry. Who could spend this kind of money from a daycare? IRS must be lost to.

What does the state have to do with it? This is not a state run facility and the state does not monitor private businesses for whether they have someone stealing from them. This person is charged with stealing from her employer not with defrauding the state. I know it is easy to blame the government for everything but seriously....this is not and should not be the states job.

Yes it should. State is over daycare centers. They get tons of government funding for low income families. State rules are followed in a daycare. State can come in anytime, investigate and close them down. She was the office lady. She still has to follow state rules and doesn't call the shots. A daycare has many strict rules and they get a lot of government funding.

Actually you are wrong. The government oversees the Child Care Assistance Program which provides subsidies on behalf of their clients. Money paid by the government to the child care facilities is paid on behalf of an individual and does not directly subsidize the facility. The internal financial matters of the center are not the concern of the government. That is the business owner's problem. The state oversees to ensure that centers are providing for the health and welfare of children but does not intervene in the financial governance of the business. The only reason the government would be involved is if the center was attempting to defraud the government through false reporting of care provided to children and accepting subsidies when they are not caring for children.

Just because wal-mart accepts food stamps does not make it a government agency and the same is true of child care centers. The thefts, from what the article says, appear to be a case of the employee ripping off the owner which is a matter for the owner not the government.

FYI....

Asserting information as fact that is wrong is caused by lack of knowledge and is easily avoidable...

You would be best served to remain silent and have someone think you are an idiot rather than opening your mouth and proving it.

What's done is done. It's not about the situation with her. It's about the family. Imagine the possibility of continuing life without someone who's very important to you. Like I said, it's about prayer for the family who has to deal with the situation.

LMAO...ok. you are the idiot! The owner of a daycare in a tiny town doesn't clear that amount. Money would be swindled from all avenues by Ms. PAM. including government funding. She had to tell many false stories to rake in that amount of $$.

Casey Casey Casey...

You need to learn to read and understand rather than blather and make yourself look dumb. If you re-read the post it does acknowledge that daycares receive state money as a result of clients getting assistance. That still does not make it the governments responsibility to keep an employee of that company from stealing from the owner.

And just some quick math for you....

322,000 over 8 years is around 40,000/year.

If the daycare charges 20.00/day per child for 5 days per week - that is a low ball figure by the way - then they get 100.00/week/child. That is 5,200.00 per child per year.

If the center had only 40 enrolled children - again this is a low ball number for a center like Kids Connection then that is 208,000/year.

If the owner is not paying attention and allowing another person to control the finances then stealing is really easy and the person doing the theft would only need to siphon a small percentage at a time to make a lot of money over the course of 8 years.

The likelyhood is that the childcare center was making vastly more money than this and that the thefts were a small part of the money being earned which is why it went undetected.

Assuption is the mother of all f*ck ups!

While you may be entitled to your own opinions you are not entitled to your own facts.

Stop talking about things you don't know about or understand. If you want to understand how government subsidies work then you might want to start reading some state and federal regulations.

Thus the statement that I low-balled the numbers so the math would be easier for poor little casey to understand. You might want to work on your reading comprehension.

Is that English hun? Or did you descend into your guttural half-retard monkey language. I am sorry if all those facts and numbers made your poor little brain hurt. I hope you didn't injure yourself trying to cypher it all out. Just go lay down and watch your cartoons and pretty soon you will forget all about those scary old numbers that prove you were once again wrong.
