I am married to him, he works hard for his money and we are by no means rich. He also doesn't want to be anything close to a redneck. He liked the truck, so he bought it. You could probably own one too if you weren't sitting on topix being jealous of someone elses hard work.... Just a thought.

I have a few friends and family members that live in the country, work farms, raise and work with farm animals, cattle, horses etc. None of them call themselves rednecks. They would more than likely take it as an insult. They also wouldn't stoop to the level of thinking they need to shut someone up. We call it "ignoring" stupid people. It seems a large amount of kids in this town who call themselves rednecks don't know what a hard days work is. Their parents have generally bought their vehicles, and its more of a clique to them than anything. If you live out in the country and you work a farm, or do any job that requires you to earn an honest living and put in a hard days work, and you choose to call yourself a redneck... that's your thing. Redneck is still considered a slang term and there would be a large amount of people that would have the bad things listed in Webster's comment that would come to mind when they hear that term. At least for me growing up, the hard working, friendly country people that had good moral character and left well enough alone were just called by their first names, or country. The punk kids and problem causers that only cared about raising hell 24/7 were called rednecks.

I bought the "new diesel." Thanks for those who complimented it. I am a Paramedic and no im not another little rich boy or trying to be a redneck. I'm not either of those things and don't claim to be. I've spent the last 7 years driving a diesel ambulance and I've just grown to love a diesel engine. I always liked the looks of the Dodge and I found this one, so I traded my truck to it. I'm an adult, I'm married, I own my own home, and I work full time. That's pretty much the gist of me and my purchase of this truck. It's really as simple as that.
