I've been there afew times I think it's a good place and there's never been any kind of hostility that I've seen in there. The staff there is really nice.

I thank all the bad mouthing about the pocket is coming from people that own the other hole in the wall bars or people that go to them. you never know what a place is like until you go. So if you want to know the true about it go and fined out for your self. I've been just about everyweeken they been open because I'm freinds with the owner and haven't see no one pull a knife. Only see a guy get thrown out for rolling a joint in the bathroom. So come see if you like it stay if not leve.

well it would help if they had a great lead singer. Not what you would call anything special by no means. Couple that with having only decent musicians and I wouldn't say they would be the best any town they went to. ALso, if they are the houseband at the Saratoga that should say it all.

First off, it is VAGABOND BLUE. They are the best band around. If you want a crowd and a great night, get them. The song selection is amazing and the light show will blow you away....great stage presence and professionalism..from Bon Jovi to Kid Rock, and all between.
I have been to see them 7 times and are never disappointed...there's always something new and they will do almost any request that is asked..just found out that they are gonna be the new house band at The Saratoga in Richmond starting in Jan., so let's get em' here while we can, they definately rock out!!!

The only gripes i have heard about it is everyone not liking the cover charge.I've heard about a dozen people this past weekend say they won't go back because they don't want to pay a cover.Personally i don't mind paying it.I think just to hear a decent band it's worth it.But anyways that is whats being said, but who cares, let them be cheap and not go.I haven't had a chance to stop in yet but maybe soon.

There's a new gay bar in Edgewood opening up. It's gonna be called the Back Pocket. Is that what you are thinking about.? They were thinking about calling it the Toolbox, I'm not sure.

WELL THEY DO HAVE IT OPEN. I WAS WONDERING WHEN IF EVER BE PACK AGAIN? I HEARD ALOT OF PEOPLE DIDN'T LIKE THE BAR AND THAT THERE'S OTHER NEW BARS IN NICHOLASVILLE AFTER THEY CLOSED THE CORNER POCKET THAT PEOPLE LIKE TO GO TO the newer one's - LIKE jd legend woody's and the one's on maple that was right after the corner pocket closed.well now that there open an the pocket just opened i don't see everyone going back to the pocket and leaving there old used to party bar to go there.plus when i have been in there it looks like the old people r in there i never see see young people in there like the good old day's now when i go to jd legends i see all ages in there and at woody's. what happend to the pocket. it was also dead in there . i give it about 6 months an they will be gone again. but thanks for coming to nicholasville, i have seen better bars in lexington than the pocket they don't even have a dance floor well j.d legends don't have one either but hey they have the people. well they better start doing something before they go down..

The Pocket is NOT the old Corner Pocket. It is run by many of the same people, but it is much nicer. I went to the old Corner Pocket often, and have been to The Pocket a few times since it opened. It is very clean, bathrooms are very nice and clean for a bar. Band stage area is very professional (lighting etc...), and the dance floor is plenty large enough, largest in Nicholasvill. While there are some regulars from the old CP, there is also a young crowd. Security is probably much better due to how the front door area is constructed. Basically if you don't like it, don't go, but it is a nice place.

I find it funny that so many people come onto this silly little site and post rumors that they hear about a place they've never been to. I went down to the Pocket the other night and it was a great time. They had a good crowd, the band sounded good, and there were no fights or problems. Every place will have little fights and arguments, it happens when people have been drinking. Come on people use your heads. The crowd there was by no means "rough". I find that laughable. Go see the place for yourself instead of relying on rumors that you're hearing.

Most bars with live entertainment charge a cover, the Corner Pocket charged a cover, it's nothing new. Woody's charges a cover. I agree with you, it's worth it for a good band. Heck you have to put money in a Juke Box to hear it...everybody wants something for nothing.
