What do you mean? The board just put a down payment for the purchase of Mt Konocti.

Has anyone seen the road to the top?

It sounds like they'll need a "BOND" next.

I can only imagine it was purchased to sale at a loss by the supervisors.

I don't care for gambling either.
These are tough economic times, and Konocti Harbor Inn has to offer a product to bring the dollars into the County.
They have to remain competitive.
California should just legalize gambling. The cat has been out of the bag for years, and the field should be leveled.
I do not know why he despises the people that live in the Rivieras. We never see any money returned to the area to improve things. But the taxes that are collected here seem to always find their way to Downtown Kelseyville.
Look at what has done for downtown Kelseyville.

What has he offered the Rivieras a Road repair bills, and now the largest employer in the area may fold if they can't remain competitive and job losses follow.
He is not a Supervisor for the people of district 5. He's a manipulitive Rat that only looks after his constituancy.

The other Supervisors are wise to Rob Brown in his ways.
They know he's not that smart that's why they set him up with Jury Duty.
So they can vote on this issue and it passed.

Brown works his job and knows the issues better than some of his lazy co-supervisors (yes, that means you Farrington and Smith). Try and find either one of these two in the county on any given day and you will have to look high and low. At least Brown is man enough to have an opinion. The others don't dare say too much for fear that we will all figure out that they don't know what is going on. Brown and Rushing are the exceptions.
Wow how impressive.

Good for Brown. I used to be neutral about gaming-AND I like the Indians having a way to make money-BUT their "advisors" get a hefty fee, gambling is a bain on our society, and it attracts an unsavory lot. It would be good for the kids to have more exposure to positive livelyhoods. There's got to be a better way. Increased traffic is also a detriment. They are all self focused, distracted drivers either going to "get some" or "now they've lost the rent money". I know of one couple who lost TWO houses to gaming debts-won a motorcycle and were thrilled!?!?? Not too bright. Not good for the kids. Not good for the environment and not good for solid personality development. Look in a casino-Who's smiling and laughing? No one except the employees who have to per policy. They're all scowling, brows furrowed, stressed, irritable.

The Reason why the People voted Mitchell out and Rivero in was the mishandling of the boating accident that killed Lynn Thorton and the turning of a Blind Eye when Rob Brown had 50,000 Marijuana plants on his property and the Mexicans were to blame.
The Lake County Record Bee has been forced to drop topix due to the Liabilty of Free Speech.
Free speech is the major threat to the Good Old Boys or the Klan.
When a Board Supervisor such as Rob Brown can go to some ones Home and punch them in the head and be excused something is terribly wrong.

brown offered to resign if Rivero resigned.
Brown and Rivero seem to be the lightning rods for discontent on both sides of most of the big issues facing our County.

It it obvious that the best interests of the County would have been served had Rivero done the right thing and resigned.
Both of them would have been gone.
The fact that he did not tells us all that we need to know.

Now we are stuck in humiliation, controversy and political/public hell.

What the BOS said publically with the "no confidence vote" was....Frank...please do the right thing.....for all of us...

When KHRS was being considered for a casino a couple of years ago Rob Brown led a pack of rabid NIMBYS in the charge to shut that plan down, which I told him at the time was probably the only chance the resort had for anyone buying it. I told him he was risking losing over 600 jobs as well as $600,000 in TOT funds AND another few hundred spin-off jobs and hundreds of thousands more in TOT and sales taxes.

Today probably close to 1,000 local residents have lost their jobs due to the closure of the resort, and the county may have lost a total of a million dollars in tax revenue so far. So who's had a bigger negative impact on Lake County, the Sierra Club or the BOS which voted to ban a new KHRS casino only to change it's mind and reverse the vote after it was too late and the mistake was realized-BTW, it was a 4-0 vote as Rob wasn't even there!

You bunch of Sierra Club bashers are the most hypocritical, ignorant and chronically stupid bunch of hicks a community could possibly be burdened with, the one thing this place has going for it is it's natural beauty, which YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT!

Oh and STFU Pete.
