This is a wonderfull thing for Dogs and Dog owners in those towns that will have the Dog Parks. Now What about Clearlake?????
Are we also going to have a nice place to take our canines???
I also hope that the rules will be that Dogs may be off the Leash only when there are no other dogs in the facility.

GREAT NEWS!!! The only other thing I would have added to this article is vaccinations.... Parvo especially. My advice for those visiting any dog park, bring something to wash your dogs paws with before loading them back in your vehicle to go home, dont allow them to "eat" other dog
feces while enjoying the park. Owners have to police their own dogs, for lack of better words. Kennel cough is airborne so be sure your pet is vaccinated their as well. I dont want to put a damper on this, I just want owners to know what may lurk around dog parks. I've been in the dog show world for 20 years and know, all to well what can happen if your pet isn't vaccinated.
ENJOY!!! It's a great way to exercise AND socialize your dog, who knows you just may pick up a friend or two for yourself.
Don't forget doggy treats!:o)

Hopefully, this won't be a doggie disaster. My dogs and I look forward to checking it out.

Hope it works- I never take my dog to dog parks because of the rude, uncontrolled dogs and owners present. Plus, I hate stepping in everyone's worm and disease infested fecal matter.

If folks actually cleaned up after themselves and behaved, it'd be great.

Cats are far too territorial and aloof to socialize with each other that way. Just ask one if it wants to be walked and see what it says.

I have a Breed that acts more like dogs... she does get walked, rides without being caged in the car, etc,,,

Great news,
now maybe the doggie lovers in lakeport will use it instead of having the picnic area at 3rd ave with the tables as a canine commode........

Nice asset to Lakeport & our visitors. The Lakeport City Council,Ron and all the WCP worker bees, City workers and other volunteers/donators should be proud. Now its up to the dog owners to act responsible and not screw it up for the majority of dog folks. Kudos and cautious optimisim. Proud to live in this great County & City. Damm I love this place!
