and Justice for all?
This is a story that every one who drinks and drives should think about. Hit and run, and killing someone. This kid got off lucky.
The victim and the family are going to be living with this for life!

You gotta be kidding me! Well then again, this is lake county! My child and I were in a accident in June, hit & run by a drunk driver, no license, and no insurance. That man has not even been charged yet! The cops found him down the road a few miles sitting in his SUV, keys in hand and that night arrested him for out of agency warrent! Finally when the DA did call he did not even know who I was, he thought I was a witness! And still the man hasn't been charged! This just shows how our county's justice system works. That guy killed a man, his friend, but didn't even shred a tear, or mention the wreck to anyone. He should of got alot longer of a sentence!

The system is surely broken. 4 years the lower term in this case. 4 years the upper term in the Zino death. Both probably out to slaughter in 2 years.

What a travesty James Walter Nightingale kills Zino leaves the
scene then surrenders when sober and Hedstrom orders Nightingale
to serve the upper term of four years in prison on the felony hit-
and-run charge, with the misdemeanor charges each getting a year
that he was ordered to serve concurrently, although much of that
time was wiped out with time already served and other credits.

Nightingale also has been ordered to pay the Mezoui family more
than $47,000 in restitution, which will be the subject of another
hearing on May 17.

Money can't buy everything.

Hedstrom said the statute allows credit of up to one half of the
sentence for good conduct, meaning Nightingale could be out of
prison in about two years.
