Niantic prison would get nursery for inmates' infants under proposal

A proposal to create a nursery for infants of women inmates at York Correctional Institution has gotten cautious endorsement from two legislative committees, but lawmakers want to know why the price tag is as much as $14 million over two years.

Why on earth would we provide services to these "people"?!? They should just drown these future criminals in bleach as soon as they crawl out of the rotten cesspools these "women" call a uterus. disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. What is this world coming to?

As a former inmate I must say I'm far from trashy. My 2 beautiful children are not future convicts..stuff happens in life some times. Fix it n move on. Anyhow...I completly agree that no child should b brought into this world in a prison enviroment. Niantic is a cess pool, the med staff is awful n the C/O's are dirty...not all but most. My long winded point. This is a really bad idea.

It's disgusting trash like you that keep this cycle going. You're a criminal, the disgusting spawn you popped out due to your record of irresponsible decisions will be in the system right behind you. They should've sterilized you the moment you were indicted, and destroyed legacy you left behind. Sickening.

My mom has been incarcerated since I was 12 years old. I'm 19 now and guess what, I am not nor will I ever be a "convict." I have a bright future ahead of me! and my mom is FAR from being trash. I'd love to see you guys talk all this shit on here when someone in your close family makes a mistake and ends up in prison. I have learned so much from my mothers mistake and I will never do the things she did. I can understand the idea of not wanting to raise infants in a prison, but really? You just want to call of the women in there trash? Shit happens. I've learned over the last 6 years that some of the people there couldn't control their circumstances. There are women in prison because they were protecting themselves or their kids from abusive, alcoholic, asshole husbands. Yes, my mom screwed up. Her "irresponsible decision" was made based on alcohol. But I promise you, I will not be in the "system" right behind her.

You say that but.... You're the diseased spawn of a felon. Chances are 90% or greater that you're lying. So there's that. And anyone can control their circumstances, make a change if you can't deal with what's going on or you deserve what you get. Period.
