Seneca casino workers getting raises

The Seneca Gaming Corporation is handing out $500 raises this month to some 3700 workers who make less than $40,000 a year.

They failed to mention that one week after giving the announcement, that they have cut full time employees' hours across the board by at least 5 hours a week...Some even more. The employees that are only part time have been scheduled to only work one or two days a week. All of this to cut costs.

That's fine...but hopefully they will also LEARN to treat their employee's with some dignity along with this so called raise!
Don't think for one minute that employess matter in their casino's and GOD forbid they get hurt at work....not a good thing!! I know someone who was injured working for them a few years back.. & WOW they were fired months later, never was a problem to work with, always an outstanding employee(as it said in their own reviews) of this person- no pink slips no warnings... this person worked anytime asked, seeing they always need new people to fill in-due to the exceive "letting go" of employees. Beware of when they come baring gift!! They are getting away with way to much that the public doesn't know about... but keep supporting those casion's folks..!!

You know its funny, I know a person who works there full time. Things were fine when he was part time. However, when he went full time and started taking benefits, this guy's job performance went into the toilet. It sounds to me that when it comes to money the Seneca Nation is just as ruthless as any business out there. It's a darn shame too, they are making a profit. However, the Seneca Nation will be the losers in the end. They will be known as the "employer of last resort". They will get people to work there, but when a better opportunity comes, the working guy will be gone. Sooner or later they will end up hiring losers who will PO their patrons the very people who provide them profit. Talk about penny wise and pound foolish. I suppose in the USA you are allowed to be stupid and foolish with your business enterprise.....however, the marketplace corrects the matter and the marketplace can sometimes be brutal.

i work at the casino. yes they are giving us a "bonus" of $500.00 but they fail to mention that it is adding up to 25 cents an hour. which is fine and all, but they are also cutting our hours. most of us full time employees are supposed to be working 40 hours a week and yet they are shceduling us for 29-32 hours a week. where is that $500 bonus helping us at all. OUr Seneca Allegany Casino was doing just fine until they brought down the higher up boss' from Seneca Niagra Casino. I say ship them back to the fall's where they belong and leave us alone, maybee our business would increase again. our customers said they liked coming to our buffet because we served better food than the fall's, so why are they trying to turn our casino into the fall's. maybee than we would get our hour's back and not be so slow when we are usually already in the extremely busy season. Our waitress' overheard some boss' talking that they are cutting hours just to get rid of our benefit's. our security staff is overworked, due to lack of hiring. our gaming machines are constantly going down which is making customers get very upset.

I am an employee of the SAC. Over the last year the casino has gone down hill in a big way. They brought down immigrants down from Niagra Falls, who are trying to run it as if it is Niagra Falls. News flash its not Niagra Falls! Its Salamanca! Different demographic completely. Thay think city but its country. They continue to alienate the patrons who made the little casino on the hill what it was. Now machines dont pay out and food prices have gone up. Yippie! They gave us a $5oo dollar raise only after they started cutting hours. Each week they keep cutting hours more and more. Soon they'll want to start taking away the benifits. The casino has many employees most of whom are non native, and yet they give the natives( most of whom live in Salamanca) a gas allowance. Most employees live outside Salamanca and the average millage is 25 or more. Yet they dont do anything for us but cut hours. Thanks awhole lot for nothing.

I also am employed at the casino. For people who think that we get payed well think again. Dont get me wrong I like my job. But since I started there 3 years agoto fill up my vehicle every week to get to work is just over $20 more than it was. Also I pay a babysitter every week. Needless to say my 40 hour week gets me about $100 a week to pay bills and all else. We are one of the lowest payed casinos in the country. People think that we are well compinsated if your not a seneca (which I am not) we pretty much get nothing. I also dont have one of the tip paying jobs and my job is basically either your busy or not. And now that these new people are in charge well the axes are dropping. This 500$ raise really is truly nothing for the money they bring in each and everyday. It truly doesnt off set the gas costs and food increases and the great expense of just life anymore. I really wish that the senecas ould see that but they cant. I honestly am in the position now saying hey fire me I get unemployment and wont have to put up with the total BS of trying to be a FOUR STAR service industry for a one star pay.

jobs around our area are hard to come by so we take what we can get but the casino offered and promised us much, but has done little. the only way you get anything by working there is if you are native, hispanic, african american, or asain. those of us white people get treated like shit because everyone else can claim that it is race related so what about us white folks who had alot to do with making the casino what it is today. the native jack ass' are pretending to work but still collecting a ton of money. gee how i would like to be native you get money for spreading your legs and having children. gotta love all that money you get for stupid shit. as many of us have said, send the immagrants back to niagra falls where they belong and leave sac alone. we did so much better before those ass' came down and ruined everything. the people who live in this area would prefer to have meat, potatoes, and veggies, not all that high class snob food. how long will it take them to realize that SAC based customer's are from the counrty not the city.
