The government and your tax money funds Chambersburg Area School District and for the past few years that schools pssa scores were so low that if they didn't raise the scores the government was going to come and make sure those scores were raised.(CASD had to bribe their students, with prize drawings and rewards, to come to school and try their best on the tests) So we should shut down CASD because of low test scores? Why should we shut down SSVC because of low test scores? This just means that the school needs to evaluate the cirriculum, and CASD was giving a chance to evaluate. I've seen a lot of these students throughout C-burg when I'm out and about and most of them behave a lot better then the students I went to school with. These kids love it there, and do think of it as home. SSVC should remain open.
no the school should be close. to much money to keep it going. that school is home to me to. i was saying to keep it open. but when they start talking about keep it open only for the philly kids close it down for good!

Yes Carol from your post you love the school and what IT WAS. Somehow SSVC got hooked up with "the Philly Connection" and SSVC sold their soul to this Virginia James. Did you see the post where she gave near a million dollars in political donations. Heaven knows how much money she made personally off of this "Philly Connection".

Funny thing is, even if Kauffman does get the funding added back into the state budget, he won't vote for it! He hasn't voted for any of Rendell's budgets yet, so he really doesn't have any clout on this. They all know that he is going to vote against the budget any way. This is all just smoke and mirrors!

Just curious....why not compare the two schools? Both are schools with children aren't they? Is it really still that much hate out there? wow.

If SSVC staffers paid for the campaign buttons out of their pocket, why didn't they hand them out to the visiting Harrisburg Harlots? Are you sure SSVC staff gave their money and not money from the school's budget for the buttons? That would still be using taxpayers' money.

SSVC's mission was CORRUPTED. When SSVC stopped requiring that a potential student be the DIRECT offspring of a MILITARY VETERANS (like the school's name says) and began accepting nieces, nephews, second cousins, or those who KNEW a veteran in their Philly neighborhood, that's went the corruption began. Apparently Rob Kauffman is blind to this fact.

I couldn't help but reply to the comments about the potential closing of SSVA in Scotland. I grew up and graduated from SASHS in 87. I had the privilage of serving in the military with SSVA current Basketball coach, Randy Taylor. As time went on I made my home in Kansas. Just like SSVA, the economy is effecting services in the Midwest to include education cuts, disabilty services etc. Everyone is feeling the hit.

Over the years I have enjoyed hearing from Coach Taylor and staying in touch with his family. He talks about the good and bad of his job.He talks about the kids who continue to make mistakes. He talks about the kids who without SSVC would've never had a chance to go to college or any other post high school opportuties. He talks about these kids without naming names and with respect.

Try and keep the kids best interest in this discussion and decision. Are they going to get in fights and mess up? You bet. Are they going to graduate, go on and start careers and have bright futures. You bet also. I hope sense, trumps the dollar in this discussion.

Yes the 38 videos... that's right 38 VIDEOS TAKEN OFF UTUBE by SSVC Officials are being hidden from the taxpayers!
Rep. Kauffman, before the tour of classrooms and school facilities began, SSVC Superintendent Ron Grandel gave you a slide presentation that outlined the history of the school, its goals and mission, and academic and athletic accomplishments.
Rob, ASK TO SEE the 38 VIDEOS TAKEN OFF UTUBE by SSVC Officials!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently you don't know that the person that puts the videos on is the only person that can take them off so Scotland "officials" as you call them can't take them off.

There is absolutely no legitimate reason to re-open the Scotland School. It hasnít served its intended purpose for the past few decades. It was a tax drain on a financially strapped state budget. The truth is the disgracefully bigoted admissions policies alone would have closed down SSVC many years ago had that policy been discriminating against black students rather than white.
