Please provide the following info to make this more informative:

1. What consequences are involved going "45MPH over?"
How much is the fine, added costs, points, etc.?

2. What type of vehicle was involved? In our area, many of our self-labeled speeders are driving a real POS that shouldn't be driven over 50 - let alone over 80, LOL. Conversely, many vehicles can be driven at 80MPH+ and the driver may not be aware he is going, say, 80.

What was this vehicle?

Thank you for any more info that makes this story more meaningful.

Agree with Sick-tired. What ever he was driving probably looked like a trapper keeper and sounded like a bumble bee in a tin can. Moron.

How about this for punishment -$25 and one month suspension of his license for every mph he was over the posted speed limit? Let's see, 81-35=46. That comes to $1,150 and no license for 3 years 10 months. Pay up sonny, here comes da judge.

Most vehicles will do 100mph, just not as easily as a sports sedan or motorcycle. You just have to be a little nuts to do it on public highways that are always under construction and carrying heavy truck traffic. Have you ever seen what happens to a car that flys out of control at 100 plus mph. "Flys" is the operative word.

DriveItLikeUstoleIt said “the driver may not be aware he (Helm) is going, say, 80.” Well, if that’s the case, then Mr. Helm shouldn’t have a license.

On the other hand, if Helm DID know he was doing 81 mph in a 35 mph zone, then in that case he shouldn’t have a license either!

Rationalize all you want, but there is NO excuse for that kind of driving.

Wow I guess you do like going fast without stopping I can tell because you didn't use a single period here I'm sure the kind of girls you apparently boff in your lap while you're driving your trapper keeper car are really smart and classy I believe that how fast a man drives his car is a measure of how awesome he is i go fast lots fast rules I don't get pulled over fast and furious hell yea man
