The alleged rape at SU and alleged rapes at PSU-Mont Alto both involve female students going into a setting that is questionable. In both cases, the females drank heavily. Why? What is the reason for drinking until they are blotto? Lack of self-esteem? Trying to prove something? Peer pressure?

We're going to drink no matter what. There's nothing more police or any adult can do to stop kids from underage drinking. The people who read this post do not understand that Brett was 20 years old when this happend along with the girl. They are both sophmores in college. And the reason we sleep there so much is to be safe. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my 18 year old daughters walking home in the early hours of the night ESPECIALLY after everything that has been going on around campus (stabbing, escaped Roxbury Treatment Patients, etc.) The boys at this fraternity take care of us. They are not "dogs." They respect us because we don't give them a reason to do other wise. If girls are going to drink heavily, they should either know their limits or quit being so premiscuous just to get boys. They are the ones that need to grow up ... Also - on things like this, we don't care enough to have correct grammer.

Then don't worry about it being brought up about the lack there of, otherwise if you post a on public forum, expect comments. I do.

Underage drinking happens. It won't be stopped no matter how many advertisements are put out. Responsible behavior needs to be taught all around involving all aspects of this story. Whether it was rape or not, both sides need to know what the consequenses of their actions may result in if they are drinking, with someone who was drinking or whatever. Don't blame the bottle.

i expect other comments contradicting mine, that's fine with me, obviously i know it's going to happen but the ones people put up calling him an animal, a dog, and that he should be put away for ever make me very upset especially when, in my opinion, i feel he's being wrongly accused. i also understand what you're saying about people needing to understand what they're doing when they're drinking, but half of these people act like it was only his responsibility to do so and it's not so i appreciate someone acknowledging that it was her job too.

There are many lessons to be learned here. The two most important are as follows:

1.Girls, don't get drunk unless you have a smart, sober gal pal to drag you sorry butt out of there.
2.Guys, don't have sex with a girl befor performing the routine sobriety test, to avoid future rape charges.

One of the dim bulbs who has posted here said that she spends the night in the fraternity house because she, and female friends, don't want to walk back to their dorm in the early a.m. If the TKE boys are so wonderful, why don't they walk the girls back to their dorm? It is a lot of yammer from students who give doubt to why they are enrolled at SU. From the way they express themselves on this thread, it appears they are wasting someone's money.

First of all, for the record, I've been walked home by a TKE boy every time I request an escort. But at the same time it is not their responsiblity to cater to every girl there just because they happen to be a brother to the house. They have lives as well. If the TKE boys walked every girl home instead of letting them just simply crash on one of the couches for the night, they might as well start an escort business and at least make money because it would be a popular job. The girls are aware of what they are doing. I sleep there because I'm guaranteed a comforter (which they let me use while they sleep elsewhere and blanketless) and a couch where no one will touch me. It is risky business walking back home while intoxicated (even if you are of age and have an escort). So many things could happen that it is best to stay the night and not risk it. And Tillie your comments are imprudent. You shouldn't have wasted your time commenting. Drinking is only being mentioned because it is intertwined in the topic. By college people know how to work just as hard as they play, otherwise they would have failed out already. No one's money is being wasted, but everyones time was just wasted when they read your idiotic points.

So, "Obiously", you've said that many of party animals who go to the TKE house are no really up to walking home because they are intoxicated from heavy drinking. Are these girls who "are aware of what they are doing" binge drinking? Do they guzzle until they vomit? Why? Since you say that you go there, drink a lot, then "crash" on a couch, you ought to have some insight into their behavior.

How often do you visit the TKE house, Obviously, and get drunk and crash on a couch with the guaranteed comforter? Three times a week? Only on weekends? Why do members of the fraternity allow females to get so plastered that they have to "crash" on a couch because they're unable to walk home? Why don't the responsible TKE men tell the young boozers, "You've had enough. It's time for you to stop."?

look reasonably at what you just said, have you EVER been to a party where a fellow student cut you off? it shouldn't be their job to look out for everyone, the person drinking should have enough self awareness and respect to stop themselves if they find it that important. if they pass the point of being able to tell when enough is enough it's their own fault and they aren't responsible enough to be drinking in the first place. it's not the TKE boys job to babysit, that's completely outrageous to think they should walk around their house cutting people off. oh but i guess if they don't they get accused for being dogs. if people go there to party they are going to party, fights would probably break out if someone walked around making people stop drinking. plus TKE HARDLY EVER HAS PARTIES so i don't get why we're making their house seem like the poppin spot, seriously, i can't remember the last time they had a real party.

Right, "no name," no one has personal accountability for their behavior. If the TKE you're defending "hardly ever has parties" then what's the draw for the female student who posted on this thread that she goes there, gets drunk, and "crashes" on a couch and, according to her, other females do the same. Is she and her co-ed friends going there to drink when there's no party? Can you explain, no name?

well wow samuel, yes i can because i'm usually there too. we're friends with the boys so a few of us gather often and we hangout and drink. no blaring music. no humungous crowds of faces nobody knows. no kegs. just us friends hanging out and drinking.. satisfied? and this has nothing to do with what this post is really about so i don't get why you feel the need to interrogate me, i really shouldn't have to explain myself to someone who has no clue about why they're even asking these questions. it's irrelevant.

The fact is everyone is responsable. What ever happened to looking out for each other? Did the girl have no friends to tell her she was being stupid? Did the boy have no friends to warn him of what he ms be doing was stupid? There is enough blame to go around here. Please grow up and realize the when you do something stupid there may be consequences that last a life time.

You are 100% correct, Bud. Absolutely right. Just from perusing the posts about the alleged rape posted by defenders of the male student, you get the idea that the TKE watering hole crowd does not include many on the Dean's list for academic achievement. You get the sense that it is a collection of young people who are apt to make poor decisions about alcohol consumption.

First the articule mentions the TKE.
Second some of the 'supporters' posted comments about TKE.
Lastly with this being a public forum, I am curious as to when you'll collect your pay check from the P.O since you're the one setting the rules.

I always get amused when someone says something like,' don't say that' or 'back off' or 'step off OUR backs!' What exactly happens if people don't comply?

I see posts of people that know Brett but none that know anything about the girl. Would you think her willing to make up a story like this?
