Rickey Stokes = Yellow Journalism

Rickey Stokes pretends to pride himself covering and creating stories and issues the Dothan Eagle has not covered. No problem. Every market needs an independent venue.
It is obvious from his rhetoric and self-adulation that he considers himself infallible and absolute in his coverage of events around the Wiregrass.
Recently, one of his minions covered an event just blocks from my house. Headlines screamed “Pedestrian Struck.” The one paragraph story was inaccurate: it stated a pedestrian was struck.“Pedestrian” is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a person going on foot.”
The reality was that a mini-van was driven legally, within the speed limit, on Houston Street. A child was driving a golf cart on Iroquois, ran a stop sign and plowed into the mini-van. Please note that 3 separate laws were broken. 1) A child is NOT a licensed driver. 2) In Dothan, golf carts are not licensed for city streets. 3) The golf cart ran a stop sign.
Emergency personnel found the driver of the golf cart lying in the street, where he fell when ejected from the golf cart.
Rickey Stokes could have ranted and raved about driving golf carts on city streets, parents allowing children unsupervised access to unlicensed vehicles on city streets, and/or parents not teaching the most basic of road rules: a STOP sign means STOP!
His venue chose to employ true yellow journalism: biased opinion involving sensationalism, distorted stories, eye-catching headlines, and misleading images for the purpose of exciting public opinion.

I beleive that rickey stokes puts everthing the way he won,t,s it to be. are he will not put it on his site.in mine own opinion he puts what will make him look good . he got notalent when it comes to no the law just because he was a corner 1 time so what.without the dothan eagle we would be lost for the news.rickey grow up and go eat a 25 pound turkey we will take care of the news . i heard turkey makes you rest with all that stuff you post. some maybe is the truth.ihave known you when you were a little kid rideing motorcycles did you ever learn how to say on the bike more than a minute at a time. if you wont, the news get it here.bye butterball look for you in the funny papers. I read his stuff and in my opinion hes one sided and that his side and on the crooked cops side!!
He wont let a response go thru if its against one of his so called cop freinds and he knows what is right and wrong!!
I think Rickey in my opinion is a snake in the grass..........and cant be trusted!!
If he was a real reporter he would post both sides of the views instead of just his and those that agree with him.
If you post something against him, it will not go thru!!!
I got a idea for mr stokes..........go back under that slimy rock you slid out of and give the reporting to the prefessionals!!
