If these k through 4th grade students had been armed, maybe the gunman would have had second thoughts about opening fire. Yeah sure. This is a violent country and easy access to guns only adds to the mayhem that is occurring with such great frequency.

Its a terrible thing what has happened but taking guns away isnt going to solve this problem. It is much deeper than that.

Spoken like a typical liberal. Disgusting mind you have there. These are children and were probably shot by low life's you idiot liberals champion constantly.

It always happens in Blue states in "Blue liberal cities and towns." Hell, Chicago is a self cleaning oven. Criminals and thugs do not obey laws, but, law abiding gun owners who are responsible do.
My heart breaks for these children and their parents. Our prayers are with them all.

Easy access has nothing to do with it. As usual when something like this happens people blame the guns. How about placing the blame where it should be, on the sick bastard who decided to walk into an elementary school & open fire on a bunch of innocent children. I guarantee you this person was on drugs. There's where you place your blame. I don't know if your town has the drug problem that our town has but a majority of the evil that is going on in our world is a direct result of drugs. A problem our government will never stop because they are making too much money off these addicts at these so called clinics where they give them one drug to get them off another drug. Here in Wv it is so awful, every night on the news you see 2 or 3 violent home invasions, druggies wanting their fix. Every family is dealing with a family members addiction. I too am dealing with it, my little sister is on drugs so bad & when she cant get high she becomes very violent. Everyone here can tell you every house that sells drugs but yet our police do nothing. We report them & it falls on deaf ears. They don't care that the druggies, drug dealers & prostitutes are taking over our once wonderful little community...When Americans push for this ban on guns the only people that will have them is the people like this guy who walked in your elementary school & opened fire. Like drugs, they are illegal yet they are rampant. I know I want the right to defend my home & my family when one of these drug induced idiots invade my home...Don't you? May God bless your community & pray no children were hurt during this horrific incident.

It's an irrefutable fact that the worst cities in America are Democrat/liberal controlled

Disgusting for either side to be debating gun control right now. The focus should be on the children and families of those list today. Liberal or conservative doesn't matter much today people, these were AMERICAN kids who were slaughtered by an apparent maniac.

Oh Oh. Update.
100+ shots fired, 10 dead - still only 10% effective hit/kill rate. Sound like someone needs better optics.
See? The Brady Campaign of Gun Control Works!
Too bad you weren't around to take the bullet that hit Reagan. It would have saved us from reading your imbecilic crap!

And just as an aside, the way to fix this is to make it exceedingly difficult to purchase ammunition. Since there are far too many guns out there to ever get off the streets and out of people's homes, make the purchase of ammunition and self-loading materials extremely difficult and extremely expensive. Would be a good way to raise additional revenue too.

We know this...we are all praying but we have to look at why this happened and what ways we can solve this from happening over and over again and gun control is a option. I dont believe in more gun control but i believe its up to us in society to stop this kind of thing.

As someone who lives close to Jonesboro where the Westside Middle School shooting took place in 1998, I remember that feeling of shock & disbelief. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families, victims, and witnesses. I'm so sick & tired of these savages robbing our children of their innocence.

Thank you for sane post! My heart Breaks for you and your family with your Sisters addition! I agree with every word, you posted! Drugs are killing America! Guns aren't the problem, it's the nut sacks that violate the innocent! With our economy in the crapper, more and more of violence with continue! Scary times we live in. Now with so many people thinking doomsday 12/21/12, we will see more and more of these kind of horrific crimes! Too, so many people feel hopeless! Holiday brings on more depression! We as a Nation need prayer!!! Jesus Christ is our only Salvation! I'm not religious freak...do Love my Lord and Savior! Jesus can heal and restore hope and joy into our lives. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

criminals don't abide by the laws any ways....so taking our guns means law abiding citizens will be like sitting ducks! IF someone had a concealed weapons permit....MAYBE the guy would have been taken out BEFORE he could hurt a child.

Thoughts are with you and your community. This is deeply sad to see.

This is no time to debate with each other yet a moment which should serve to bring you together.

For a moment set aside your differences and think not of yourselves or your opinions but the families and children affected by this tragedy.

Blessings to all from Ohio
