Remember when they used to have the Apple Blossom Festival there? It was an annual event that Bethel residents could really be proud of and enjoy together. We went every year and had a great time. Does anyone else have good memories to share? Thanks.

The apples seemed better when I was younger. I was there two weeks ago and they don't seem the same. Then again what is the same anymore.

I wonder if they will have Honeycrisp apples this year-those are the BEST!

I was 8 years old in 1968 and used to visit my cousins in Bethel to go to the apple blossom festival. I remember rides and an old barn that had things for sale like records and used items. Best time of my life. Too bad things have to change.....

Now the apples taste like taco's. It's a shame.

I lived on Plumtrees Road, about a mile away from Blue Jay Orchards, till I was 17 years old. The Apple Blossom Festival will remain a highlight of my youth. When I was in the second grade, I bought a helium ballon at the festival and tied a note to it and released it into the air. A young girl of the same age found the balloon in Nova Scotia, Canada and sent me a letter saying she found the balloon deflated lying next to a pond. Thereafter, yearly, I sent balloons adrift, though never received another reply.
