Our American schools are 'soft' targets. All the talk about pro-active security measures are nonsense. Our schools need 'plain clothes' armed personnel in patrol. In a life-and-death situation, the only way to stop an assailant is with 'deadly force.' PERIOD!

There are plenty of retired police personnel,as well as,retired military, available, who I am positive will assume these duties at a very reasonable salary. We are ALL ALREADY PAYING for the consequences of these actions. How many more innocent children and teachers must die because people like you are "penny-wise;and,pound FOOLISH?"

Antidepressants may increase suicidal thoughts or behaviors in some children, teenagers, and young adults, especially within the first few months of treatment or when the dose is changed.

But it has been found vaccinated children are sicker than unvaccinated just by looking at health records. There's no reversing vaccine injury. You have millions of Adams in the world. Last USA count 1 in 88. In the 1980's it was 1 in 10,000. Utah and New Jersy are 1 in 29 boys. In about 2005 it was 1 in 150 USA. Your country is on track to have every child in the country autistic. At this rate thats likely 5 years away. How many armed guards will you need then?
The reason the vaccine link is ignored, covered up ect...

"the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"

Of cource the vaccine thing is true, no doubt at all.

Those few kids paid the price for the many that didnt get the diseases after vaccination.

Thats the thinking behind it.

I do not know where you people are getting this idea that vaccines cause mental illness? "The vaccine thing" is not true;it is nonsense. Autism,if you bother to check the facts,is not caused by vaccines. It is an INHERITED defect.

I think those vaccines contianed mercury.

The thiomersal controversy describes claims that vaccines containing the mercury-based preservative thiomersal contribute to the development of autism and other brain development disorders.

Wasnt the mad hatter on Alice and wonderland "mad" from the mercury they used on the brims of hats back then ?

I dont think mecury poisoning is a inherited defect but contempt prior to investigation might be.

And if mental illness is INHERITED why is there no genetic test like there is for say cystic fibrosis ?

Cystic fibrosis is a disease passed down through families that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive tract, and other areas of the body. It is one of the most common chronic lung diseases in children ...

And what "mental illness" are you talking about anyway?

Mercury is a toxic substance. Lead also. Environmental pollution may indeed act as a trigger catalyst to many neurologic diseases. I agree with that. However,it is accepted that the disposition towards autism is genetic. The link between autistic behavior and the type of behavior exhibited by the shooter is superfluous at best.

I believe that there are genetic markers which do indicate the propensity for cystic fibrosis. The one form of mental illness I am familiar with is the thinning development of the pre-cranial frontal lobe which governs empathy, compassion. However, here is an interesting fact. The M.D. doctor which performed these brain scans on pathological brains, used a normal brain;and, his own brain scan as controls. When the results were read, his own scan indicated the same pathology as the known pathological brain.???? I can't explain it?

The important point to make here is 'what can be done to stop or significantly curb these shootings?. These type of situations are life-threatening. There is only ONE type of remedial action which can be taken; life-threatening force must be met with similar deadly force. It is repulsive to many. It sounds too simplistic. However,it will work. More gun control is nonsense. Gun control only applies to law abiding citizens.

Real therapy not drug pushing !!!

“We have become obsessed with psychopharmacology and its endless process of tinkering with medications, adjusting dosages, and piling on more medications to treat the side effects of the drugs we started with,” he says.“We have convinced ourselves that we have developed cures for mental illnesses … when in fact we know so little about the underlying neurobiology of their causes that our treatments are often a series of trials and errors.”

Back in December 2003, a study in Psychiatric Services on “financial disincentives” for psychotherapy noted that psychiatrists could earn about $263 an hour doing three 15-minute “medication management” sessions, verses about $156 for a 45 to 50-minute therapy session, representing a pay cut of close to 41% per hour for doing therapy only.

The most common excuse given for the high rate of prescribing psychiatric drugs is that talk, behavioral, cognitive or other forms of non-drug treatment cost too much. However, in 2008, more than $24 billion worth of antidepressants and antipsychotics were dispensed.“Such expenditure would employ 240,000 psychotherapists earning an annual income of $100,000 to provide 6 million hours of psychotherapy averaging 25 client-hours a week,” Murray estimates.

These figures do not include what would be possible using the additional revenue generated by the sales of antianxiety, hypnotic, and psychostimulant drugs, he says.

There are two autisms. Seemimgly inherited and regressive which exploded in numbers in the 1990's. Adam was 20 which put him in the 90's as a baby, and when vaccines likely did this. If its nonsense why does the USA vaccine court published record list autism, developmental delay, gene mutation, death and more as side effects, and as the reasons for compensation?

Why had no one from CT or a nearby town close to Newtown replied on this thread? No one there has answers or told not to discuss the shooting on Topix? Seems most inquiries are from other states. Would just like to hear from someone who knew these families and how they are coping.
