I moved to Fl. 25 years ago. I only know what I read in the News Times on line. The one big problem I see with downtown Danbury is most of the clubs cater to the hip hop and rap crowd. After a few drinks they all get beer muscles ,and trash talking is the game of today. Not to mention all of the lowlives that come from Waterbury and the surrounding areas that come here just to start sh#t. I say good, let all of the dirtbag bars move to the outskirts, like millplain rd.
Most of the clubs allow underage people in under the guise of not being able to drink. If your not over 21 there is no reason to have underage kidas in the bar after 8 pm. Also most clubs downtown don't serve any type of food, even if their licenses say they are supposed to.
The city should also charge a LARGE fee for every time they have to stop a fight at any of the clubs. After a few calls, the bars should be shut down for a month, if the trouble bars can't get their act together, close them down for ever.
I don't know of any respectable people who want to go to the downtown clubs and risk their wife or girlfriends safety. never mind being robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot,or having their car stolen or vandelised.Never mind getting into an accident with a drunken illegal with no license or insurance. Downtown Danbury at one time was a great place to go on any night of the week, now it is one big ghetto slum. I miss the days when you could go downtown and have dinner and a couple of drinks, the go to see a movie at the Palace theater.I miss the old Brass Jail too. Tommy and Gary always ran a nice place. Their french dip sandwiches were the best. R.I.P. downtown Danbury, the inmates are now running the asylum.
I'm glad I moved to Fl. when I did. Compared to surrounding towns, Danbury is the dumping grounds for all the other towns problem inhabitants.

No citizen will go downtown that is infested with illegal alien trash.
Get rid of these dirty illegal roaches and it will thrive again.
