First, let me say that I have no sympathy for pedophiles.

Having said that, this guy did not have any contact with a child -- the contact was with an adult cop. How is that a crime? Because he *thought* he was chatting with a child? So the Thought Police are making the arrest?

In case nobody noticed, cops conduct Sting Operations because they are too incompetent to catch real crooks. If they didn't arrest anybody, you, as their employer, would demand that they be fired.

So they create *fake crimes*(Sting Operations), so they can at least arrest *somebody*. And pedophilia is an easy sell, since the public will always say "these people disgust me" or "take him out and shoot him".

IANAL

It's called policing. It's no different that a cruiser partoling the streets waiting for you to run a red light or stop sign.
Your logic would ditate that if one ran a red light and subsequently was given a summons it was obviously entrapment because the officers presence made you run the light.
That makes complete sense!!
Are you friends with Andrew?
Are you a kid toucher too?

I don't think you get it...
This is an operation aimed at catching those who are inclined to seek out and prey on the young BEFORE they get a chance to act on their desires.

Being bored and pathetic is no excuse for accepting any advance from someone you "believe" is FIFTEEN YEARS OLD – with full knowledge that this is AGAINST THE LAW.

No, it's more like a police officer dressing up in a very sexy civilian skimpy outfit, and saying "If you run that red light, I'll give you the best BJ you ever had!" Then when you run the red light, she pulls a badge out of her black lacy thong and busts you.
That makes complete sense!!

I grew up down the road from the Neros, an dthey were nice kids back in highschool, he just made a mistake and should be given a break. He is not a bad kid at all, and he has learned his lesson. I dont see him going to jail but rather some counseling. He made a mistake so let this be a strong warning to him.

You are all pathetic. What he did was wrong, what he did deserves punishment, but what he doesn't need is all you people sitting behind a computer passing judgement like you are all perfect and live perfect lives. Again, no doubt what he did was wrong and he deserves his punishment, but get a life and leave the guy alone.

and no, I do not know who this guy is.

True, he did not actually engage in anything with a 15 year old female. However, the intent was there. It's unfortunate. I do think he is sorry, and I am sure he won't do it again. I actaully do think I am one of the only people on here giving him a break.
