In Newtown's Wake, Schools Crack Down on Imaginary Weapons

Feb 8, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: KRVN-AM Lexington

A Colorado second grader was suspended from school this week for pretending to throw an imaginary grenade during a playground game of "Rescue the World." The suspension of Alex Evans, 7, added invisible hand grenades to an ever-growing make-believe arsenal that has landed kids in trouble, and parents wondering if schools have gone too far.

How far away are we from a ban on ALL toy weapons.

Guns
Swords
Military stuff
Laser pointers
Bats
Battleship game
BB guns for sure
Archery equipment
Lawn darts
ANYTHING THAT RESEMBLES A WEAPON

I think this is the fear of the guilty. Maybe they will succeed in having all guns banned. Maybe we could be like England and the U.K. where the Police there, the "Bobbies", have only nightsticks and tasers. Maybe after all that happens and a few of these fearful, guilty people get shot, with no one armed to help, they will finally understand, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". Go take a course on handgun safety. Watch a John Wayne movie. Watch Saving Private Ryan. Watch one of the "Enough" movies where women learn to defend themselves. Then maybe, just maybe, stop taking the prescriptions the doctor gave you that are making you so paranoid and then you can see this was a rare and tragic incident from outside the class with many more parts to it than children making believe. The Media Circus here is unprecedented. Stop buying into it. What other rare tragedy as this has ever received so much attention or victims families getting so many gifts and cash?

I heard a story about a woman whose boy was hauled-in to the principal with some playmates for "using pretend guns" or some such bullsh!t (pointing fingers and cocking their thumbs and making noises).

Principal called parents, Mother called her Father-in-law (a retired judge), he came with her (husband oversea w/National Guard). He brought a voice recorder to have a record of their conversation with the boy and the principal. Said the principal was shaky with it but wasn't going to try to out-argue the judge.

Principal asked the kid to explain why he was using a gun. Kid said it wasn't a gun, said it was a "phaser set to stun" and they were playing 'spacemen and aliens'- and he even made the "pew-pew" noises to go with it.('Trekkie' parents?)

Principal said it was the same thing and they were going to be suspended, Grandpa disagreed: guns are real, guns CAN kill people sometimes, and that imitating a real gun was very different from imitating a fictional phaser 'set to stun'.

Also asked the principal that since it was all "on tape" now, would he like to argue it before a non-retired judge(?).(said he would be happy to call their chief-of-police and ask the recorder be secured as evidence - who's going to refuse a ex-judge?)

The kids were let-go and nothing would show in their records (and their parents will probably make sure they're ALWAYS playing spacemen).

I don't know if it's a true story, but you CAN learn to insist upon your rights, you CAN record conversations if given permission by a participant or you ARE a participant, and police CAN secure items as evidence (and be professional witnesses) for the public without arrests happening (some states' evidence rules may vary).

why dont they crack down on child drugging by psychitric quacks getting rich drugging kids ?

"Despite 22 international drug regulatory agency warnings on psychiatric drugs causing violent side effects including aggression, mania, violence, psychosis, suicidal and homicidal ideation and 14 recent school shootings committed by those under the influence of, or withdrawal from, psychiatric drugs, there has yet to be a federal investigation into psychiatric drugs causing violence.

Because then they can't make as much money if they do the honest thing. The cost to bribe politicians must be going up. If you knew the local politicians here and the truth about how big a crook Blumenthal is, you wouldn't be surprised this turned into a circus. It gives a new view as to how deep the corruption is, (to the Whitehouse), and why so much state corruption has gone unchecked. There are no more Americans in Government, just a bunch of greedy socio-paths.
