Teens gives selves up in shooting death

There are 16 comments on the Charlotte.com story from Aug 16, 2007, titled Teens gives selves up in shooting death. In it, Charlotte.com reports that:

Two Lincolnton teenagers wanted for last week's fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Newton man turned themselves in at the Catawba County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

Grady Tyshone Wilson, 17, and 16-year-old Zir-alyn Phelps walked into the Sheriff's Office shortly after 4 p.m. They were flanked by their attorneys, who told them not to talk to the media.

Wilson, Phelps and three other men have been charged with murder in the Aug. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Zachary Thomas Walker of Newton. Ralph Jerome Mack, 21, Brandon Duncan, 20, and his brother, Joshua Duncan, 18, were charged last week. Read more

You are a bunch of low life,'Ku Klux Klan'*FREAKS*!!! OOPS, did I just say that??? That is sooo not acceptable in today's society! However, your posts to this article are just as 'heinously' unfriendly!!!

Whatever happened to innocent, before proven guilty?

Have you stopped to consider what the family of these boys are going through? What if this happened to your son? Wouldn't you appreciate folks keeping 'mindful', until all the facts were in place?

I don't know what happened that night, do you? I am keeping an open mind, at this point...

As I see it (being from the north, we are much more willing to give a person 'their day in court', before hanging them), we need to wait this situation out, before judging... This means that after they have had their day in court and the decision has come down, you all can have your party, if it is a lynching as it seems you want.

KEEP IN MIND... A jury doesn't always give out the right verdict. It all depends on how good the attorneys are, what part of the country you are in (ie; bigotry, prejudice, etc., esp. ion the south!) and what day of the week your trial is on. On Friday folks want to go home for the weekend (get the meaning?).

Our judicial system is supposed to be fair. Ha-ha! Fair? Think about it... Would you like to be tried on Monday, Wednesday or Friday? Let's just see when this trial is over what the stats are and how things go down...

I would like to add that I am a 'casual' internet surfer who came across this article and found your 'comments' infuriating! My interpretation?'Let's just hang the basturds'. No trial, no questions. Hooligans! This is what I got out of your comments on the newspapers article...

Shame on you!!! Everyone deserves a 'just and fair' trial'. Though, I can see by the comments on this article that it is a 'pipe dream' in the south still, if you are other than a 'skin head' or 'red neck'...

PEACE from the northern states...

What a dumbass.
Hey, if you can't help but go off the deep end (as you just did) when you read the forums on topix, maybe you're too overly sensitive to be on this site. So save yourself the grief and stay off topix, or grow the hell up.
Obviously, you are a prejudicial prick!

Does your mom know how late you stay on the computer?

You, obviously, have no concern for other peoples feelings.

What if these kids are found not guilty? This will ruin their lives, anyway... However, it seems that you really could give a s**t less...

There is plenty of time for judgment, which is what the courts are for. It is not our place to serve as judge and jury.

Anyone can serve on a jury.

You would lie about your knowledge of this case, if your were called to serve in this venue, wouldn't you? You have your mind made up. This is not the way that America conducts 'innocent until proven guilty' in the judicial system.

What is your issue TitoFTW? It's, obviously, more than an innocent internet surfer... Perhaps you dislike one of the boys who are incarcerated in regard to this case?

Oh,'incarcerated'... I'm sorry to use such a big word with you. Here's a link to the meaning...

I, sincerely, hope I didn't offend you by speaking 'over your head'.

Peace.

No judgment, yet...

This has taken a long time to come to court, or maybe not... seeing that it is taking place in the 'south'...

Anyone who's avatar has the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer logo and 'Forever Two Wheels' synonym shows that they are they type of folk who were featured in a famous film where folks don't want to end up at... Squealing like a pig, just because you made a wrong turn is not anyone's intention for a great vacation.

What happened to TitoFW's posts? Everyone should have a say, even if we don't agree... Editing this site is not what this is all about. I say let everyone's opinion, like it or not.

Perhaps I missed some horrible post he made, that led to the banning of all of his posts?

In that case, remove the 'horrifying' posts and let the others be... This is what 'truth in the media' is all about.(just quoting another person who posted and said I sounded like 'Truth in the media', who sounds like someone I might like!).

I don't agree with TitoFTW views on this case, but he has a right to his say... To have his posts removed on this subject is unconstitutional, unless of course he broke some constitutional laws.

I am not 'up to date' on this case. So, I may be 'all wet'... Though, I still feel that we cannot edit anyones thoughts. Like them or not...

The young men involved here are being given plea agreements in exchange for their testimony against Brandon Duncan if it goes to trial. Ralph Mack, Zir-Alyn Phelps, Grady Wilson and Joshua Duncan are all pleading guilty to armed robbery and will recieve probation only. Brandon Duncan is the one who actually pulled the trigger (not once but twice). He is the only one who will probably go to prison. And as to why it is taking so long, I don't know why. I am so ready for this to be done. It will be 2 years on Aug 9th. My faith in the justice system and my belief that they (the justice system) are the advocates for the innocent and the victims has been destroyed. It really seems as if no one cares that my 18 yr old son is dead or that I need to see these young men punished and this mess over with. I will be in the courtroom in Cat Co this morning as 3 more of them accept the plea arrangments and are out on the streets again.

Mack is a trouble maker. He's been sending threats to me and just last week he ruined a girl's life who he had been beating and abusing, this week he's back in jail for stealing. I hope he gets what he deserves.
@Zack's Mom, my condolences.
