I am glad you're such an intelligent person and all knowing. You may be able to speak for yourself but you can't judge someone else's experience when you haven't walked in their shoes. Ignorance isn't bliss my dear. I also work for Convergys currently. Let's just say a lot of what I am reading is correct. I would NOT recommend this company nor would I recommend having service with any of there accounts. I am not trying to be mean but I do believe in standing up for people. You're very rude and in considerant. It is obvious you work for Convergys and your management material. Lol I am going to have a nice rest of the day. Take care! ;)

Ok so some people may have had a bad experience but i've had a complete opposite experience with convergys. If i've read correct you are asking about Convergys in Hickory, right? Well i work there now and its a great place to work. You are guarenteed 40 hours a week and they OFFER OVERTIME anytime you want it. What company offers overtime? seriously its for people who need the money and like doing what they do. If you can't handle dealing with people complaining over their cellphone then no you shouldnt be there. But put your self in their shoes. If you pay 100 + for your phone bill you expect everything to work great and the bill to come out right. If for some reason your bill is 200 more dollars than it should be OF COURSE UR GOING TO GET A MAD customer. wouldnt you be upset? & if for some reason you come across a customer that rubs you the wrong way, if you are uncomfortable talking to them, TRANSFER. Get ur team leader. There are options all over the place. Great Benefits and great flexibility with hours worked. So im sorry other people have had bad experiences, but it sounds to me like a bunch of ppl got laid off for not doing their job properly and now they wanna bash the place. I've had a time of my life working there and i've met many people i plan on knowing for a long time.
Ok just to let you know it all went down hill. In 2012 the company forces you to sell what AT&T offers and if you don't you are written up weekly. More than 12 write ups and you are fired. It has nothing to do with customer service anymore. Team leaders, operation managers and sale mentors walk around doing nothing but taking credit for your sells. If you have a problem with a customer they make you talk to the customer because they don't want to work. They are not flexible with your hours and send you home against your will if calls are slow. Overall is a stressful job that is not reliable unless you are making sells or sleeping with a team leader or operation manager.

I have worked at Convergys for 12 years. I have never had an issue with getting my paycheck directly deposited. I had good training. Great medical insurance, I even had surgery recently and 6 weeks of disability which was the same as my usual paycheck. I like my co workers and we have fun at work.

The goal of a company is to make money they do not care about the wellbeing of their employees over profit, thats the goal of a compnay. No company is going to fire an indavidual that is benifical to the company, I understand your frustrations with this company but lets get reall you are there to make a pay check and a living not to be pampered and babied while they pay you for no results. This dose not just go for convergys it goes for all companies some are more leniant than others but if you are bringing the companies profits down they are going to get rid of you.

I don't generally go around talking bad about employers, I typically believe there was something I missed or never noticed about my performance. I got a job at the Heathrow, FL location in the beginning of October 2012. I had been unemployed for 6 months and my 2 year old son, my wife, and I are living in an efficiency trying to get back up on our feet. After a 2-3 week recruiting process, I got the job and it sounded like a dream come true. There was 2.5 weeks of classroom training and 1 week of transition before you hit the production floor. During transition I was told by everyone how incredible I was doing, my scores and metrics were the highest in my class, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was giving superior customer service. On Thursday the week of my transition I was offered to cross train in Internet and also work overtime over the weekend, both of which I did. I poured my heart and sole into this job and we were guaranteed our jobs were secure as long as we past our final tests with at least an 80%, which I far over achieved everything. We were also told that they don't expect you to do everything perfect because we have to get used to the systems and anything we were struggling with would be identified and coached to improve. LIES, LIES, LIES. I never worried about any of that because I was consistently the top performer in the entire class and was praised and hailed by every trainer and coach for my performance. The first day I was scheduled to hit the production floor was a Sunday night from 4-1am. I was on the phone for 1 call and got sent to training. There the lead trainer informed me that I was being separated from the company because I failed to meet the 70% requirement for transition. When I ask how is that possible she pulled out a piece of paper in which case it showed that I had met every metric requirement and she was like I don't have access to the quality appraisals that weren't met. I knew my VOC (Voice of the customer) surveys were all near perfect and when I mentioned that she again said she didn't have access to that information. I demanded to speak with someone else because she hadn't shown me anything that confirmed confirmed I hadn't met performance requirements, even though we were never even told we could be fired for them, and I know 110%I was giving superior quality and my metrics and voc reflected that. Upon demanding to speak to someone else she called securitry and had me escorted from the building. I can honestly say that this was an absolute unethical hiring process and I still can't figure out what happened. I believe that if you are intimidating to current trainers and coaches they will swamp you to protect their jobs, that is the only thing I can believe. I'm a person that is a perfectionist and I obsessively watched my metrics call after call and am certain that she was full of crap. They hype you up and make you believe you are working for the most respectable company in the world, but I never even met my team lead before I was gone without any warning, I thought she was joking at first.had told we could be died for them to the other documentation that shows why you are being separatedfromfrom the company because I failed to meet the transition requirements of 70% for quality. When I asked why

Converges is the worst employer. I was fired for a.medical emergency that arose during my shift. The trainer would not allow me to leave to get emergency medical treatment I was in a life threatening situation. I left and was terminated I am disabled and the emergency was related to that I disputed the firing and the smart ass training manager told me I wasn't fired because of the er trip but because of my absences during training. I met with an attorney and I do have a case against them. Wrongful termination of a disabled person. As a direct result of a related medical emergency is illegal

I got a final pay dispute with this company. Their accounting is the worst accounting department ever. I only worked for a month and a half. They said that they overpaid me, can only send me a payslip but can't even send me a computation about my back pay. They do not want to give me my prorated 13th month, prorated SL conversion, and tax returns if there is any, because "I STILL OWE THEM".=) Up to this point, I'm still working on it. Their POC is really hard to contact coz apparently theyre "busy", to the point that they can't read my email. And to anyone who wishes to be a part of this company, GOOD LUCK!!!!

I was hired for [email protected] The issue I have is that you go through this extensive testing to make sure your computer system is working so that there are no issues when you do start. I went through the onboarding portion just before my training was to start tomorrow. Two days everything was fine. Time to test my usb headset. It worked but then all of a sudden convergys system didn't work properly and so tech support came on my screen, manipulated my computer and now all of a sudden the headset didn't work anymore. They didn't give me a chance to get anything fixed but instead got the boot over a headset when in fact no calls will be taken for at least a month from now. It's not my fault that the headset is not working when it was working properly the first time. No one wants to take responsibility and all the trainer told me to do was that he was going to drop me and I have to start all over. After going through the background check and drug testing, why can't they just put me in another class? They have to right their wrong. I would not recommend them to anyone, and from the other complaints here I think they just did me a favor.

I haven't worked for Convergys for roughly give years but I still remember how horrible Convergys was. For starters, the pay is absolutely crappy ($8-$9.50 to work the jobs of FOUR or more people), substandard "benefits" (more like discounts) for the first six months, and the travel...well...some things are best left unspoken. Training is subpar and very lacking. You're given about anywhere between two weeks to two months of classroom training--essentially, learning the job through slide shows, videos, paperwork, and internet knowledge base review that does absolutely nothing to actually help you prepare for the job in question. You do get some practice on the floor listening in to calls with a person to sit with you, but even so its usually only for ONE DAY before you're essentially put through a baptism by fire when you're on the floor. Lack of training is exacerbated by the fact that you are told that you are doing one job on paper. In actual practice, you are likely doing the job of SEVERAL. A customer service agent, for example, will find themselves doing not just that but also technical support, constant up-selling for sales, AND retention...depending on the job in question and the team he or she is working for.
Which leads me to my next point: the management is absolutely horrible. The left hand often doesn't know what the right hand is doing. You're told to do one thing one thing, you come in the next day and get told that whatever you were told to do yesterday will now get you fired today. Stories coming from management are conflicting and often contradictory. Favortism runs rampant, and there is a very definite double standard on just about everything.
Very few, if any, of the team leaders are trustworthy, and they are hilariously lax on actually enforcing any of the rules (which are often treated as mere suggestions) or cracking down on bad conduct in the centers. If they ARE actually doing something about things, then they're doing so in a Draconian fashion.
The level of filth in the building is absolutely appalling, and despite the fact there is a HR Department located in the building, it is locked off from the rest of the staff and all HR issues are handled through the hotline to the center in Ohio.
As it is, the turnover rate is ridiculously high. Most people last only a year before they are let go for varying reasons, assuming they don't quit in the interim. Anybody who stays longer than is only doing so because they know either the right person's butt to kiss, or the correct way to please them doing so, or both.
Bottom line, there is absolutely nothing good about Convergys. Stay AWAY from this place, for your own sake.

I started working for Convergys Aug 1st, 2012 and quit Nov 1st, 2012. Everyone that I met from my original training class that quit (except maybe 3 people), and all of us were NOT NOT NOT paid for TWO full weeks of work.

I left because of the bullying going on in the Logan, Utah location. I have worked at other call centers before (anywhere from 3-4 years at each place), and NEVER have I been subjected to this type of bullying before!

I was cornered multiple times by a girl named Tia. She would corner me in hallways and scream at me. She was in my original training class. Want to know what she was screaming at me? To not look at her in training. I shit you not! From there the cornering was mostly about how she hated me. HR, TLs, Trainers, and other training members were all witnesses to this. I obviously reported this to HR. This just made her sneakier. She admitted to HR that she had been cornering me. NOTHING was done! I was terrified to be alone in the hallways with her for WEEKS. Not only did HR tell people not to sit near me during lunch (even though they removed my lunch), but during training the entire class was dragged into HR to rat on each other like a witch trial. I shit you not! Over 20 people were written up on bogus charges because the SAME GIRL, TIA, decided to make up LIES about EVERYONE! We were all told not to speak to one another, in the SAME training room! NO ONE could talk to one another! WHAT?! But hey, if poor pitiful TIA says it, it must be true...regardless of what the other TWENTY people say!

I hoped getting onto the call floor would make the situation gradually go away. I was wrong!! The entire call floor "knew" I was a cokehead, abused my children, was fired at least 4x (and begged for my job back??), am a drunk, and many other rumors. These rumors were all started by the SAME girl! I finally just quit to end the madness.

By the end, I was not getting a lunch and only allowed 2 15 minutes breaks for an entire day. I was working over 14 hrs a day, counting my overtime. I brought a book with me to read (had to get special permission for that), and took my breaks in my car. I refused to talk to ANYONE after all the rumors were started. Do you have any idea how exhausting it is denying over and over again that you don't do drugs, or haven't been fired? To complete strangers?! AND having HR basically laugh in your face when you get upset about these rumors?

Oh my god. I would be in tears getting ready to go into work. My husband even witnessed her CHASING me in the parking lot one day. Do you know what HR did? NOTHING!

After I quit, HR tried to call all my many witnesses in to interrogate them about MY life. NOT crazy chick's life. Naturally, I keep my personal and work life seperate, so they couldn't answer any of HR's questions. All OUR complaints were swept under the rug. HR called me at home AFTER I quit, about the rumors. I hung up on them. I will NEVER use them as a reference.

I am STILL getting calls from my original training class about how Tia was/is harassing new people now. She has had at least 10 people complain about her, yet she still works there. Why you ask? SYMPATHY! HR took sympathy on the 17 yr old (pregnant with #2), living in a basement apartment...over the married wife of a soldier, with two small kids over 25 yrs old! They didn't care what I had to say, even with my evidence (and their own eyes, and her admittance of her guilt!). They only saw her admitted to cornering me, and me "maybe" suing them for a hostile work environment. They didn't even punish her for cornering me all those times!

NOTE TO FUTURE EMPLOYEES: HR does NOT care about fixing your problems!!!! They just want to make sure they don't get sued later! NEVER use the phrase hostile work environment! They will automatically try to discredit you!

As per the actual training? HA! Didn't learn shit! I learned it all on the call floor by myself! As per the TLs judging your calls: previous posters are correct. I was docked to an 89% because I didn't say "Thank you" ONCE, even though I had said it three times earlier. The people walking the floor are overworked and/or have no idea what they are doing either.

Good luck using their outdated shitty computer systems! I begged over and over again just to be able to bring a MOUSE that would work! They won't let you do that though, they are scared you'll swap out your own $50.00 mouse/keyboard for their $5.00 ones. LOLOL! What the fuck ever! Their systems are shit too. Laggy and half the time they are down. Plus, WE didn't even get Grandslam or half of our programs until OCTOBER!

Have fun in this breeding ground for drama people! It will only get worse the longer you work there! As is, I'm still waiting on my tax paperwork AND I doubt I'll ever get paid for those two weeks we worked (no one else has been). Assholes!

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!!! They will train you but they will lie to you as well. Then when you get out of training they expect you to be perfect and when you aren't they will fire you or lay you off.
Lie 1 - you will earn more money when you get out of training. Reality = nope you get paid the same amount forever.
Lie 2 - you will get the support you need. Reality = they don't give a shit about you

Once again, do not waste your time
