When you want to regulate something you are making it a privilege. The 2nd Amendment says the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed. To regulate would be to infringe. IF you had ever bought a firearm you would know the BATF have rules to follow as to who can buy and own a gun. You can't buy a gun for someone else if they are not allowed to own a gun. That is a strawman purchase and not allowed. If ever convicted of a felony, you can not own or possess a gun. If you have ever been charged with domestic violence, it doesn't say convicted, it says charged with, you can not own or possess a gun. If you are an illegal alien in our country you can not own a gun. If have ever been judged mentally defective, you aren't allowed a gun. There many rules made by the BATF on the selling of firearms. A private individual can not sell a handgun in a state he or she is not a resident of and can not to a resident of another state other than their own. You listen to the gun grabbers and some day you will wonder where your rights have gone, you will be a subject just like the rest of us. You people say Obama doesn't want to take our guns, got news for you cupcake, The UN deal will be a stab at backdooring us. He would like to find a reason to declare Marshall Law so there won't be another election and he will be the alllllmighty ruler. Hang on to your jock strap or pantyhose which ever you prefer because he is trying to take control.
Looks like a lot of infringement and regulating going on here already. What about some more?

How does the second amendment "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" fit in with modern society. Is it fit for purpose or does it in turn need to be reformed or amended?- http://youtu.be/sh3zzs9Tmsw

Its' abolition would be a net gain for society. It is at best an anachronism.

Why did the pilgrims come to America?
What were they trying to escape from?
What was the purpose of the Second Amendment?
Why is the Second Amendment still important today?
What would happen to the rest of the Constitution if there was no Second Amendment?

To steal a beautiful land , rape , pillage , burn , and imprison the Native population , who were excellent curators of a land grown toxic with greed , hatred , and disregard for Nature.

How will your gun ownership keep me from smoking pot?
In addition, the quoted statement is pure and simple b.s. A well-trained and adequate police force is a better deterant than an 80-year-old huddled in his bedroom with a loaded Mega-pistol.
Incorrect. Even the best trained Police Force cannot be everywhere. And unless you missed it, the Nations Police Forces are being downsized due to Budget Cuts.
An 80 year old woman with a shaky gun is frightening to a criminal. They have no idea if or when that weapon will go off.
Try talking to actual criminals about prospective victims carrying guns.
They REALLY don't like the idea.
As a Corrections Officer I was curious about what they thought about it. They did NOT like the conceal carry being passed.

Any machine gun you buy now will be over 30 years old. New ones were outlawed then and they are very expensive due to govt taxes and licensing. Everyone wanting one has to buy a Fed and State license and have local permission from authorties. It would be in the 1000's of $.

AK's and AR's are machine guns that cost a few hundred dollars.

Firearm extremists play their childish, selfish, uncaring game: if a firearm is allowed now, it must be continue to be allowed. If not, his "rights" are being restricted and "somebody's trying to grab or outlaw his guns.". It doesn't matter to your very average drooling firearm extremist if the firearm has no purpose other than to murder humans. If it's allowed now, it needs to continue to be allowed. LOL

ARs and AKs are semi-auto only not automatic like machine guns. Many in the anti-gun groups do not know or uderstand firearms and thus make that mistake. I once had an Egyptian Ak that was recalled because it had an extra hole in the receiver which banned it from civilian purchase. It still was semi-auto but one hole made a difference. You have to have a federal permit ($200), KS permit ($50), and permission from the county sheriff before even thinking about a machine gun. Then you have to find one which is not that easy and that person has also paid for permit and fees which makes the weapon that much more. Everytime that weapon is sold the permits and fees apply. I hope this helps to explain the process.
