I am sure if his blood alcohol level was higher than legal limit he will be charged with vehicular homicide. Its just a matter of waiting for official results. If he wasnt legally intoxicated then they would have to look at % of fault- such as did they put themselves in harms way by riding bicycles in dark/dusk.....Very sad situation and young life taken in a preventable accident. Hope this is a example for others that it is so dangerous to ride bicycles on highways. You may be careful but that doesn't mean others will be.

He is now charged with vehicular homicide and dui but is OUT ON BOND! Are you friggin kidding.....out on bond after killing someone. That right there is a prime example of someone KNOWING SOMEBODY in Cocke County and the messed up judicial system. Gotta love Cocke County and their judges. Who gets that low of a bond in a veh hom case?

Getting out on bond isnt unusual in ANY case if you are not considered a flight risk, which I highly doubt he is.

Yeah, it won't matter. He still killed a lady.

I know the local consensus is that he'll get off, but from what I understand the girl's parents are much more connected than he is.

If he was charged with DUI then his BA was too high. He will be charged with her death. No way around it.

Hey Fact, He is NOT under the limit if he is already charged with DUI.

And who are her parents that are SO connected? I have never heard of her or her name.

OK lets be rational. I agree with you that he should not have been drinking. DO you kno how many of my friends have left bars and went home drunk. So many I can not count. FOr some reason or fate, they were lucky. The thing about this is yes two innocent and special people were killed. That is not fair to their families and I agree. But at the same time, he did not have an intention to kill them. He will live with that horror the rest of his life. You have Casey Anthony who intended to kill her own child, who is walking free. Now someone correct me, but do we not have major problems with our system or what! I agree that someone would say well it is intentional cause if you drink you take that risk to harm or even kill an innocent person. I will give you that. But he unfortunately made a mistake and we know it was not intentional but yes some consequences should be given. Just a thought to think about.

When you drink and drive it is an INTENTIONAL act. You cannot justify the act simply because we all know someone who has drive while intoxicated. I am sure he had no intentions of hurting anyone, but thats the risk you take when you drink and drive. With that risk come consquences. An innocent, teenage girl lost her life. Now, he must pay the price both emotionally and physically.
