If u want to commit murder, just come on to Newport, we give u 14 years for rape, murder, arson, and kidnapping. That's just not right ! You get more time if you get caught with drugs! I think a life is much more important than drugs. JEFFERY STOCK I. Hope they make u their BITCH n prison. You don't deserve to c daylight ever again. There's no telling how long him n his dad kept that girl before they killed her.

What about a plea deal for a guy who puts a baby in a dryer and shoves it against the wall while the baby was screaming/crying and afraid? And then he proceeds to then set fire to the house (with the baby inside, in the dryer) after killing the baby's parents in front of him? All of this after the woman that was with him agreed to testify against him.....Makes me sick..

I'd say good job since he received consecutive sentencing and will never see the free world. If there had been a conviction after a jury trial and a separate sentencing hearing and death penalty was given, the family would live through years of appeals. Btw, a codefendant's testimony really goes a long way when fingers are pointed at each other for who did what. I'm sure a hung jury as opposed to consecutive life sentencing would make a lot of people sick. However, continue with your rhetoric.

If that did not deserve the death penalty then none does.

It's concurrent isn't it? The sentences ? So we could see Jeffery back on Newport streets in 14-15 years if he's a good boy in the slammer. He won't be. But the 18 year sentence was still to light.

Stock was concurrent. 100% crime. Would have to serve at least 85% before parole eligible. Monster.

Agreed, but look how many executions in TN. They get 2 attorneys for appeals that go through State and federal court on top of millions of stays of execution. Last death penalty case on Cocke County was remanded back yo Newport for resentencing in 2002. THEN it was back for appeals on post conviction last year. It never ends. That's another reason the cost in those cases are so much higher for tge State paying out tons of money for double attorneys as opposed to a life sentence. Death penalty gives false hope. It goes on forever.

Sounds like to me our District Attorney office has done fucked up some how that's why they let him take a plea.Wonder what there lazy ass over paid people in the District Attorney office did to offer him a plea agreement must mean they couldnt prove he did it.If they done there job a little better they wouldnt have to let him have a best interest plea agreement.Damn our justice system sucks for poor Megan Maxwell. But just let them get a guy that was accused of almost the same thing but didnt do anything to the person they would try to throw the book at them.

Well obviously either they didn't have enough evidence or they screwed up getting it or a plea would have never been on the table. Its a very sad world we live in when a man like him can have the freedom to talk to Megans mother saying he would be out before she knew it. It just amazes me that people as evil as this monster is can walk free in a few years.

Oh , he's a smart ass and a pervert and a murderer. They'll take care of him in prison. He may play tough here but he'll be a play toy in the pen.
I agree with a lot of you. Hang him , burn the body and let his body swing from a rope. That's not civilized . Neither am I.
And his daddy who we know now had something serious to do with the crime. He's got a walk. Some deal DA !!!!

And what happened to Megans dad we never see or hear from him. This case has so many mess ups. I JUST PRAY THAT THIS YOUNG LADY AND HER FAMILY GET there PEACE. I have been reading old blogs and paper clips online and some things just don't add up. Anyways at least they have some peace of mind. This man should rot. Made threats on live tv. Shows no remorse. Wow! Is all i can say.

I know a murderer in prison, not one thing like this will happen to him. Everybody says this but it is just wishful thinking. But I have to say, Stock is a dangerous man.

Stock has the bad habit of opening his mouth and speaking. That alone will put him in great danger. He's had serious issues with other prisoners in the federal lockups already that they needed to protect him. He can't help himself. He will be on yard and someone will be waiting.
It's a sad thing to take another life. Will bet he'll think of that when its his turn.

Yeah, men like Stock only bully, kill and hurt girls. Probably afraid to take on a man. That's why he was running his mouth in court, he knew noone could touch him. I don't think he can appeal since he didn't have a trial. At least Megans family will not have to go through that.
