As a matter of fact it will be opening again, and it may be open at the end of the month.

I know that, the bank is letting the church use it but not as a movie theater, I know for a fact the Sate locked the doors due to non payment of taxes as a movie theater, so unless someone has paid all
the back taxes, paid the Bank all the back money owed to them, and all other outstanding bills it will not open as a movie theater.

The bank did not foreclose on them they have been making their payments, and it is a couple from I believe Kentucky that will be opening it back up.

I don't know where you got your information from but you are so wrong, the State did not lock the doors, and it will be opened back up as a movie theater and the church will also be able to have their meetings there as well.

Then you spoke to the wrong stock holder because the State did not lock the doors and the stock holders have been paying the bank note. They are finishing the paperwork on the theater now so it should be opening soon. I just hope that they can control some of those out of control kids that go the movies, so you can actually sit and enjoy the movie without kids disturbing people. Good luck to them and I hope it goes well for them.

NEWPORT-Local moviegoers will soon have another chance to support a local theatre.

Plans to reopen Newport's Cinema 4 were announced this week.

According to Ben W. Hooper II, one of the major shareholders in the original company, Brandon Joynt of Kentucky has leased the building, located on Heritage Drive, with plans to reopen the theatre on March 2.

"Tickets will be $5 across the board," said Hooper, in a telephone interview early this morning. "This is designed to bring in lots of people from both Cocke County and surrounding communities."

After operating for approximately 15 years, Cinema 4 closed about fourteen months ago because of economic hardships. "Cinema 4 was the brainchild of Doug Kitzmiller," recalled Hooper, who is Kitzmiller's father-in-law.
