This shows how our county treats veterans of our work force. Tim was a veteran of 37 years and give his whole life to the fire department and what does he get fired. The mayor terminated him and he has been in office for two years and has ruined a mans career. Tim the whole county supports you and will back you. You deserved the best retirement ever and get crapped on like this. I voted for the mayor but that will be cancelled out the next election. Trust me everyone is talking about this and we will push the mayor out the door and then you will get your job back as chief in two years. Count on it.

I have worked out here for just a little while but I must say it is the worst deparment a person could work for. We have a vending machine out here so we can keep up the CLB Member who started it all Mr. Ellison. We have our rights tested every day at work with politics and it sucks!!! None of us out here are ever allowed to do what we wanted unless we were up Skip's butt or on David's right hand. I really hope we get a new mayor soon!!!

Is to bad people can't have and do a job they love without politics getting in the meddle of it and ruining peoples lives. Bet the ones causing the trouble wouldn't get out and do the job if needed, they probably wouldn't even know how but want to mess with the ones that can and do. Seems like all departments in this county have so much trouble from people that need to just stay out of it and leave the jobs to the ones they hired to do it.

If it's the worst deparmtment a person could work for, then leave and go on to greener pastures. What exactly does a vending machine have to do with the department being bad? Continuing, what are you not allowed to do? Sleep in your bed all day long, run errands on fire department time, run your girlfriend(s) in for "fun," stir up drama and gossip, bad mouth and act insubordinate to your ranking officer(s)? Being a fireman is an honor and this catty display exhibited on here is a perfect example of why a change is necessary. Hopefully, a new structure will be implemented to choke out the immature antics and bad attitudeds exhibited by people who should be appreciative to have a job in such a horrible economy. Focus a fraction of the energy your wasting on this crap to doing your job and maybe the problem will clear up, i.e., less time for stirring the pot when you're actually working and minding your own business.

CLB do get paid. Remember 4 or 5 years ago when they would announce their 'special called' meetings. They'd have at least one 'special' meeting a month.

Ask some that were in office when N. Smith was elected Chairman. Do research, they voted down giving themselves a pay raise, because they were trying to balance the budget.

No they don't. I don't. Maybe if he had done his job he wouldn't have got fired! And no everyone is not talking about this. Most people don't really care. And no Vaughhn won't get pushed out the door and no Tim won't get the position back as Chief.

I have been hearing rumors that Phillip Morgan, SR. is behind this to get the votes from the fire department men..There is nothing he won't do to get another vote for his big son who sat at the Repubilican meeting the other day with his head hung low and wouldn't look at anybody..This is Phil MOrgan and Charles L Moore running this. I don't think Phil Jr. even wants it. He is just a patsy for Moore & Morgan.

How can somebody be fired without a reason? Does the county mayor have the power to fire a county employee without reason. What is going on here?

"Yes" It called a Fair to Work State. Which means that you can be fired for no reason as well as quit with no reason. The State voted for it so deal with it. And Tim was a lazy fireman who thought h had it made because of his name etherton. J.B. was a good man unlike his name riding son.

Don't you have to be fit and in shape to be a fireman? Just asking.
