Shoneys, when is it closing?

It's been on the news ALL day- Mar 30,2013 on 92.9wnpc.
The Shoneys building will be torn down. And Shoneys is NOT moving to a new location in Newport. That would be foolish. It was on the radio. Management said they would take care of their employees by trying to RELOCATE them.

Were are they relocating us too?! This is the only Shoney's owned by this group. The Shoney's in Dandridge nor Morristown will touch any of us with a 10 foot pole.

That is a good question! Could be one reason (will touch any of us with a 10 foot pole) for the closing of Shoneys in Newport!

Weigel’s has hired Chris Ooten as its new director of real estate to expand Weigel’s retail footprint through new store site acquisition and the selling and leasing of company-owned property.

Either you just like to argue or you are not very smart. The owners already said they are relocating in Virginia. Do you read the paper? Granted it isn't the New York Times, but was very clear on this particular subject. I would spend less time on Topix and more time job hunting if I were you!

I just saw the pic on the Newport Plain Dealer and that fat, cranky, always sitting in the corner dining room manager is sitting on her fat but right out front. No wonder they are closing!

Are you the brandon in the Plain Talk interview below? If so, are you lying in the post above or the interview below?

NEWPORT-One of Newport's anchor restaurants will close its doors permanently on Friday, June 21.

Shoney's, located at the corner of Cosby Highway and Heritage Boulevard, will cease operations at 11 p.m. that night, according to General Manager Brandon Ickes.

The well-known family-style restaurant opened its doors at that location in November of 1990.

According to Ickes, the Newport franchise has no plans to relocate in Cocke County. "We are looking to move to Virginia," he said on Friday, "probably in the Roanoke area."

You need to get a clue about yourself. Surely you are not stupid enough to believe the manager at Shoney's is the one posting this crap. Somebody is using his name. They draw a welfare check and have no intentions of hunting for a job. Why would they? Average checks are $1200 a month. Why work?
please stay

I don't see a thing in my post that says I believe I am talking to the manager of Shoney's. If it's true that a restaraunt worker makes that much unemployment, that is probably a sweet deal for them after you add in their food stamps. Guess I will be supporting some of them for a while, and some of them will find another job.
