He was not supposed to have a flag draped coffin. The Rhode Island National Guard was contacted by the Active Army to ensure that SGT Franklin was not allowed a funeral with military honors. He was not a war hero!! He was a murderer!!! I am outraged.

Please take that picture of this page! He murdered his wife and left his kids without parents. It's a constant reminder of the brutal killing of Jessie.

My husband has been through four deployments in the last few years and has NEVER EVER laid a hand on me or my children. I realize that a lot happens during combat but that is NO excuse to kill your spouse and leave your children without a mother or father. I think their were issues with him way before he joined the Army. He is not a hero in my eyes and neither is anyone else who takes their own life. A hero is someone who sacrifices their life for someone else.

It was a act of domestic violence. He had anger issues before joining the military so you a way off topic on this. The color of their skin is not a factor either
