rirose328,

A. that's what they claim to be, not what they necessarily are.

B. with prison ministry, there is a darn good chance that whatever faith they were when the poll was taken, they became that faith after the committed the incident that landed them in prison. Christianity being about forgiveness, it is no surprise it tops the chart.

C. you need a percentage of each faith not in prison to compare to before your percentages have any meaning at all. Lets say there are 3 atheists not in prison and 2 in prison compared to 100 christians not compared to 30 in. Now percentages have some real meaning but not really giving what I stated in (B.).

Wow... you read one of my posts and assume you know me? I'm a married woman with wonderful MAN for a husband and a great kid to round out my life. I don't have to be gay to appreciate that they are people who deserve the right to marry.
If you don't know that Christians are in charge in the US, then you must not live here. And there are many different criteria you can use to make a majority. Blond/blue eyes, white/black/asian, men/women, etc. I was referring to religious beliefs alone... and in that area, Christians are the majority by far.
Do you know what "inalienable rights" means? You know, the part in our Declaration of Independence? It means that the majority cannot remove certain rights from the people in the country. The majority right now (and for quite some time now) is the Conservative Christian population. And the right to marry is inalienable, or at least it should be.
If marriage is just for the god-fearing population, why do you need a license? It is a governmental institution, not a religious one.
Have your wedding in a church, by all means. Believe as you like, by all means. Neither I nor anyone else has the right to stop you.
But I don't see how Christians have the right to deny gays the right to marry. It's sure not the liberals who are changing the laws.
it sure is the bloody liberals who are trying to change the laws, that is for sure.
IF the christians get everything they want, why are so many states lifting gay marriage bans? Why is evolution taught in schools but not God? Why does my grade schooler now know more about 'bobby has 2 dads' than I did when i was in junior high?
Why are all religions EXCEPT Christianity being taught at the junior high level? the list goes on and on....free condoms at school, birth control, abortions all without the parents knowledge...the stuff liberals breathe for!
You truly are delusional when you say Christians get everything they want.
We even got our 'Christmas' taken away so as to not offend others...but the fact that it offends Christians is of no consequence.
And the real laughable part of this is that athiests, agnostics and other non christian groups still take advantage of taking the traditional christmas holiday off from work...when it's to their advantage, then they acknowledge it. quite a double standard, but soooo typical of liberal blow hards.
God Bless America...soon and in plenty!!!!!

CLAUDIA:IF the christians get everything they want, why are so many states lifting gay marriage bans?

ME: Because the politicians are finally realizing that ALL of their constituents deserve to have the same laws apply to them. They may finally be realizing that the world won't end if gays are allowed the SAME RIGHTS that straights have had all this time.

CLAUDIA: Why is evolution taught in schools but not God?

ME: Because there is ample scientific evidence to support evolution and it is a science. There is no "alternative" to science. It just IS, whether you want it to be or not. Without evolution, biology and medicine wouldn't be where they are today.

CLAUDIA: Why does my grade schooler now know more about 'bobby has 2 dads' than I did when i was in junior high?

ME: Because when we were kids, gay people were too afraid to say anything. They were KILLED for being different. Thank goodness we “evolved” past that. 

We have a two-mom family at our school and they are accepted by all of the Christians at our school (which is a public charter school held in a church, btw). And they also accept ME.:-) Tolerance is a wonderful thing.

CLAUDIA: Why are all religions EXCEPT Christianity being taught at the junior high level?

ME: Because this wonderful country we live in has opened its doors to all countries to ""Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, etc." And many of these people brought their own religions with them. Remember, our country was founded on religious freedom for ALL, not just those with whom we agree.

If your school is teaching all religions EXCEPT Christianity, then you need to speak up and be an advocate for your child. Our Core Knowledge program teaches about ALL religions at the grade school levels, including first grade where they learn about Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It's an all or nothing deal as far as I'm concerned and that includes Christianity.

CLAUDIA: the list goes on and on....free condoms at school, birth control, abortions all without the parents knowledge...the stuff liberals breathe for!

ME: Not all liberals breathe for that stuff... you’re generalizing like I was and you called me on it. I don't agree with free condoms or birth control being given out at schools and I would fight that one. I don't breathe for abortions.

CLAUDIA: You truly are delusional when you say Christians get everything they want.
We even got our 'Christmas' taken away so as to not offend others...but the fact that it offends Christians is of no consequence.

ME: Okay, Christians don't get EVERYTHING they want... that was a knee-jerk response on my part and I do apologize.

You mean people being told to not say "Merry Christmas"? I say Merry Christmas ALL THE TIME each year because I know most people celebrate the holiday! I also say Happy Holidays if I know I'm talking to someone who isn't Christian but celebrates some sort of holiday during that time of year.

CLAUDIA: And the real laughable part of this is that athiests, agnostics and other non christian groups still take advantage of taking the traditional christmas holiday off from work...when it's to their advantage, then they acknowledge it. quite a double standard, but soooo typical of liberal blow hards.

ME: We have just as much right to take that holiday off because the government has made it a national holiday. Many people work in offices or occupations that require they take the time off. My husband's office closes down for the entire week with mandatory vacation. And as such, EVERYONE in America is due that day off, regardless of their beliefs.

CLAUDIA: God Bless America...soon and in plenty!!!!!

ME: Indeed... God bless America. I'll think happy thoughts for America, too.:-)

You make some very good points that I had not considered. Thank you for that. I'm not the big math whiz of the family, so comparisons are something I should stay away from. I'll remember that the next time I want to use that to make my point.

Well isn't that just a large sack of Sh!t? This country of high taxing, capitalistic bullcrap sytematically expels and exempts the tired and poor illegal's, taxes and high jack-sis the poor, elderly, and disabled. Provides a bullsh!t health care system. You are just confining yourself within the historical network of your relations and so-called American experiance as a bleeding heart liberal. You say that you are married, no! you are just tap dancing to the same old tune that your parents did before you, and you probably have a large segment of your distant and immediate family that are professional Homosexuals that is why you are tap dancing to the homosexual melody! God-Dum-it, the American public needs not to loose its cultural identity as a polarized culture and become a new synthetic humanity which is neither Black, White, or colors in between to become a culture grappling with it's sexuality. Super liberals feel that they have the answers for all of America's problems, because they passed a few Social science classes and English 101. When the powers that be and those that may be, get through inflicting their merciless economical tactics on all of us You will breath free alright! The Stenchy you know who's might as well enjoy their short lived day in the sun before the storm comes to drive them back into the back room of Mommies house.
This post is so far out of line, it doesn't deserve a response to it's content. Have a great day.

Why can't you see that your condemnation of a group of people based on what they do in their bedroom (therefore not affecting you in the slightest) is hatemongering? Their private behavior offends you and scares you so much, you feel the need to pass a law banning their union!
I have a major problem with religion, organized religion and a belief in god by the masses, but I'm not trying to pass laws banning the practice. What you do in your house of worship has no bearing on my life at all.
LOL in reality, these homophobes are really secretly fantasizing wanting to take a hung stud while bending over and sucking off another one as their knickers are dropped around their ankles. All the while they're using tweezers to jerk off their own little rice d*cks.

Ladies and gentlemen, my point is made by Claudia the Trailer Trash from St. Helens.

This part of the world is flaming red sludge infested by the likes of her/him/it. Can you imagine having THIS as your neighbor? Can you?

This particular flaming red model comes complete with a complete set of Left Behind garbage books and a lifetime subscription to the rantings of self-loathing gay man (oh the hypocrisy!) Rush Lush Limbaugh.

Yes, Rush is a self-loathing gay man. He is also a drug addict but he managed to hide THAT for a decade. The gay truth will come out but it may take a few more years.
