Ok..well I cant tell you much about renting other than apartments..As far as rain, u get a lot of it..probably close to 9 months of the year its raining or at least overcast. We dont get a lot of snow, mostly just frosting and some ice and black ice on the roads but not really a lot of snow. In Newport, it's usually windy everyday, especially the closer you get to the ocean also it can get so foggy that you can barely see the front of your car while drivin down Hwy 101 lol. I moved away about 5 years ago but I'm sure it hasnt changed much other than they got a lot of snow this past winter. Oh, you may like being around the ocean but the strong ocean smell can be very strong - its a salty-sea water type smell I guess...not always that pleasant. Lincoln City is nice as well and so is Toledo..however Toledo is not as close to the ocean as it seems you may want to be. Another thing I didn't care too much for is all the seagulls..and their droppings lol.
I dont know your age group but there really isn't a lot of job opportunity, in my opinion, unless you want to commercial fish, become a logger, work for the Tribe or work at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Toledo. Dont get me wrong, those are all great jobs/careers..however..for someone that doesnt want to work in one of those industries..it might be hard to find work.
Well..good luck..hope u find something you like. Oregon Coast is a great place to live..I miss it dearly!
