We left our house at 5:30 this morning....we were stopped twice and had our car checked. I have never seen so many police. One of the officers said it was probably good that we were leaving, we were safer that way.

too too bad for the officer but heck - why block everyone and injure those that need to get to work. search the good working people as they pass by and move on.. who do these police think they are disrupting everyone's day? If it were a regular person that got shot this wouldn't happen. Who is going to pay for all the man hours lost due to police feeling like they can do what they want.. make them accountable for this bad service and behavior. Again, I feel bad for the officer but it's a risk of the job he signed on for. I don't see the need to punish everyone. I hope I don't lose my job.. I wonder if they even care about that.

Officers don't "sign up" for. They sign up to serve and protect and try to make a differnce! And the law enforcement community would have done the same thing for anyone not just officers. They wouldn't be doing thier job if anyone can just leave the area!! Thge officers involved also do not want anyone else to get hurt. The man they are after has already shot at and grazed part of the public. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about!! It is very unfortunate that your world is so small!

The frustrated person is obviously not from around here. This kind of thing happens in California everyday, it does not happen here.

Seriously? Has it ever occurred to you that if a person is willing to take the risk of shooting an officer what do you think their limit might be? A car jacking or hostage situation doesn't seem out of the realm now does it?! Quit thinking that your issues are above all others safety. Also perhaps if that is the kind of employer you have it would be in your best interest to find another! Before you go posting your self indulging thoughts perhaps you should think it through of how self-centered you sound. Thank goodness all of society is not like you. And thank you to all officers putting themselves on the line for our safety.

I live along hwy 101, and at around midnight last night I heard shots fired and then sirens. As a mom of course I was instantly concerned. I got up immediately and checked on my kids. For any one to say they were injured by being stoped and checked by the cops is obsured! I think the officer who was actually shot, and his family might think so also.

Thoughts & prayers to your officer. We've lost too many in our state in the past year. Time to support the people that protect us. Stop the "open season" on them.

Dear Frustrated,
Do us a favor and post it when you lose your job. We'll oblige you and provide you the same compassion you showed to a Police Officer and their family and friends.

To frusterated in Oakland Ca. I would not normally wish bad on anyone, but you are the kind of person who needs to be taken by some nut and see if you survive it. If you did i am sure you would be commplaining that you should have been stopped and put thru a little inconvenience. Maybe then you would feel for this officer and his family because i am sure you would want others to be for you and yours!!!
Please

Well, I believe I've heard it all! How stupid can peopel be?! I mean really? I hope God is with that Officer and pray for a very speedy recovery! Even though he deserves it, I hope they officers than find him have patience and hold steady and not beat him to death. He deserves it, but the wheels of justice do need to do their job. Lincoln County doesn't have the best track record of giving people what they truly deserve, but it has happened before..lets just pray it does happen this time. This Officer deserves it!! God Bless him and the rest of our Police Officers!
