Undersea volcano gave off signals before eruption in 2011

That looks like fun.
Good news is that it is a hotspot fed volcano on a fast spreading ridge (& therefore not particularly gassy).
Compare/contrast with hotspot volcanoes on slow spreding ridges such as iceland. & the Afar triangle.
May be a result of a spreading sequence such as occurred with Krafla with trickle feed of magma through extensional dikes in between a repose of several decades with activity switched @ that point to an adjoining volcano.
The bet bit is that in that part of the world nobody has away with the scientific kit & tries to flog it back to you in the market in bits & pieces.
