carls furniture grocery promotion

Did anyone buy from Carl's furniture back in March when he first reopened and was promised $500. worth of free groceries that he promised in his commercials. I bought furniture and I am still waiting for my grocery certificates.Has anyone received theirs yet?

It's all a scam just like when I went to cancun and sat through a seminar on timeshares I was promised $300 gas voucher a year and a half ago it's all BS

just to let everyone know ,i went to carl and told him i didnt recieve my coupons. he took care of it by setting me up with another company that he is using because of the complaints from his customers. i am happy that carl took care of this personally. he also told me that if anyone i know has this problem to stop by and see him and he will be more than happy to take care of them.

Attorney General looking into this too in addition to other questionable practices( See Utica OD, July 6,2006 concerning Carl's Furniture). Rules of these grocery coupons make it virtually impossible to benefit from them.

I got mine with no problem.. as for the AG he is looking into the Watertown store, NOT owned by Carl , just using his name

It was the first week of the promotion... I sent it in with the receipts smae day and within a week I received some of the debit cards.. I did not waste any time... I used them and thats that... so I don't know if the company went out of business, I am just defening Carl. He (and his wife though I forget her name) were a pleasure to deal with. It just seemed that people are bnlaming him for their mess ups or for third party mess ups....I have had.....NO PROBLEM

That's funny (no problem)cause I did the same as soon as I received the paper work.Sent in 3 and all I got was confirmation that they received them. This promo is for 2 years at $25 a month.You had to spend $100 first each time and send in the receipts. You can't be receiving them cause they went out of business!I did not mess up up and you are lying!!
And you can't spell!! Maybe Carl should have looked into it and not made promises. That's what brought us in

I can spell, just cant type.. And I called (dack then) and made a deal, I did not want to wait 2 yrs so I asked for 250 up front. They were glad to comply once i signed the agreement taking half. So if they went under I did well... I have no need to lie, the whole point was not to blame carl for a 3rd party issue

well Carl made the deal. That is my point. I did not know you could call and ask for $250 up front. I was playing by the rules.I believe what people tell me. I guess he shouldn't have offered free groceries if it wasn't going to happen.There is alot of scammers out there. I guess I should have told them to give me my money up front like you did. I still don't believe you. They are not going to do that.If the deal is $25 a month why would they give you 10 months up front. The deal is you buy $100 in groceries every month. You don't know what you are talking about. I still say you are lying.

I find this all so funny. But this one is the funniest. "He should have looked into this" He did, you bought, and he laughs. He will do it again you will buy and he will laugh. Its the way it always works. When he sold the business two years ago he had an F rating with the better business burrow... fact check it. His reputation was so bad the new owners ran all of there advertising promoting "under new management" commercials. Now you say HE should have looked into it. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. There are allot of good local businesses that have an excellent rating with the BBB just do your research.

Well I didn't know all this it is the first time I bought from him. That's why they have the BBB for crooks. The affordable furniture went out for tax evasion. I guess you have to go with the expensive places that have been there for years or Joe Tehans. I have had good luck with them. You get what you pay for. No gimmicks.

Hey utican, I just like reading this stuff, but you are making me laugh. In general, companies make deals that will save them money in the long run. Also, yousaid "carl made the deal" . "No Problem" said he made the deal with the company, not with carl, as you implied. Please read before you respond, however, thanks to everyone for this post, I needed the laugh

[got my food coupon]

i got a letter from carl at carls furniture.it was to apoligize and have me stop in to get a new voucher for the groceries. the company had gone out of buisness,thats not his fault.what he did was find another company and instead of the $500.00 i was givin a voucher for $600.00.
i think that carl did a great job taking care of this and taking responsibility for something that was not his fault.if you got a voucher and didnt recieve a letter yet why not call him or stop there ? thats all i did.
