If there's a message here, it's probably suggesting that people coming to Hawaii for vacationing, their best bet on staying alive and well is to bask on the beach with an umbrella drink nearby, and shy clear of local flying tours. Wayyyy clear. It's questionable the pilots know what they're doing, and if not, the question arises, have the doctors been to medical school . . .

Steve, how can you say anything negative about the pilot or the doctors. The helicopter broke over the ocean and Torres got it back to land. Sounds like he did a superb job of flying. And what did the doctors do wrong? I agree that maybe there are issues with the sight-seeing fleets of helicopters but you are pointing blame at people who were found blameless.

True..these helicopters are too risky. Stay in the museums or on the beaches!

If you are afraid of flying, then travel to Hawaii by boat. They never crash, even when they develop a leak; they land slowly on the bottom.

What do the doctors have to do with these incidents?(As Steve mentioned in his comment)

Probably a put-down to our doctors. Maybe the Santa Ana winds will be kind to him.

I happen to know the doctors that treated those two. What exactly did they go wrong?

By the way, they went to medical school, as did all the physicians that work in this state (and every other).

Also, excellent work by the pilot saved their lives. What did he do wrong?

Yeah, I wish I could travel by boat since air fares skyrocketed and I'll always feel afraid. But transoceanic passenger ships went out of service since airlines took over.
