It will continue because we have to see and deal with him almost on a daily basis. He reminds us of the low life methods he uses to make an arrest and get a conviction; his focus is making the lime light with total disregard for the truth. He is one of a small group of officers on our department who give the rest of us a bad name. I love my job but the stress of dealing with a chief who only cares about his imagne and rewards only those officers who will do anything for him to get promoted. Look at Lt. Bartley, she is insulting and has performed every dirty trick to get in her current position. When she is the acting Captain in I/A she is pathetic. There are hundreds of examples of the unfair treatment of our officers. I could be next. At some point I will have to have contact with Capt. Franklin who forces the officers under him to make a certain number of arrests and write a certain number of traffic tickets. Numbers are more important than the truth and I will refuse to create false information to get promoted and then I will end up fighting for my job while V continues to make his own rules and arrest people without during a proper investigation. He should be fired immediately. He is not capable of playing by the rules and in the process many people get hurt or destroyed

What has taken so long to investigate V or does he have something to use as a defense to his improper behavior?

Do you feel important when you obtain warrants? Do you ever completely investigate a case before obtaining warrants? Is interviewing drunk people a good idea? How did you feel when the jury member said that they wasted a year of Minors life and two days of his for having to sit through the trail? Was the case that bad? Are you know sleeping with Gamble and her father?

I like how every time Minor has to walk into HQ, he walks all the floors. His way of saying ****you! Keep shining that badge brother! maybe one day, you can get all the tar off that V and Fox threw on it.

All the facts point to an out of control detective who has done it his way for years. In the process many innocent people have been convicted and put in prison for crimes they did not do. But V got a pat on the back from the commonwealth attorneys because they got a conviction and a few got promoted. V cherished the approval and continued to do as he pleased at the expense of those innocent people who could not afford to defend themselves. The system is broke; it needs to be fixed.

Det. V is the laughing stock of the NNPD, but he acts like he did nothing wrong and was justified in his conduct with Miner. Twenty four members of the community felt he acted inappropriately and publicly stated that V wasted their time and over a year of Miner's life by abusing his authority. He needs to leave for another place. He has been around too long; it is time to go.

Jury member here. All I will say is that I can't believe NNPD had even arrested Miner. Some of us thought that the detective was trying to make this the case of his career. The only proof we saw was that Miner had been screwed. Glad to see that he got his job back.

Yes, V should have been gone a long time ago. How much more will the department accept from him. He is a major screw up yet our brillant chief fires other officers for making minor mistakes just to prove a point. Go figure......

How many innocent people are spending Thanksgiving in Jail today because of your poor investigations? Arrest are good for your monthly and Jimmy don't care what happens in court. He just wants to be able to lie to the public and say the case has been solved. Great job V. They should promote you. How many feathers can one man have in his hat? Your my hero.

So many people have so much to say, yet no one is saying anything. Why wait till you retire. Just let it leak now, there are ways to do it without identifying yourself. I can't believe how many people Det V has affected. Certainly someone in power knows what is going on and is not just looking out for their self? What happened to all the stuff that was to be shared after the Minor case? Talk is cheap - let's see some facts.

I understand. I am just sorry that so many people are unhappy. You should never have to go to work being so unhappy. My prayers are really with the men of the department. Hang in there. It may take a while but the truth will be seen. I just hope that what everyone things they will get out of it actually happens. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the actual result. Been there.

Great observation "Just Saying", but believe it, the facts are coming out; it is so difficult to deal with the truth when you have leadership that tries to hide it. Our chief doesn't want to know the truth; he just wants to look good at the expense of anyone who gets in his way. It is just a matter of time.........and that you can take to the bank.

I know V and he does not deserve all the attention. He needs to be fired as he brags about his arrest record and how the brass supports him 100%. His motto, If they didn't commit this crime then they being arrested for prior crimes for which they didn't get caught. He is an insult to the city, the police department and the human race.

He destroys lives just so he can clear out his cases. Look at me, I can get a warrant. Sorry to inform you V but it does not take much skill to get the Newport News Magistrates to issue a warrant. Don't you care that the jury members laugh at you?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Pisces

You're raring to go today, especially on domestic projects. You'll achieve a tremendous amount if you're allowed to proceed at your own pace and in your own time, but you'll soon get ratty if you suspect someone is breathing down your neck or trying to tell you what to do. You'll also feel irritated with people you know really well, so be prepared for a few fireworks.
