and entrance ramps, the entrance ramp for 64E om 29S is a disaster waiting to happen, you better be on your toes when you get on 64 there.

Not sure why this is news in Charlottesville, this applies to 64 east of Richmond. However, that stretch of 64 could use another lane in each direction. I was driving down the Norfolk to arrive at 8 PM on Friday, and the road was still full of cars. I dare not drive that section of 64 on Memorial Day or Labor Day weekends, I can only imagine the gridlock.

And it's even worse on Fridays and Sundays during 'beach weather." you can get stuck in mile long backups for hours. They definitely need additional lanes both ways from Richmond to Norfolk and Virginia Beach!!

Haven't been out that way for quite some time, never had a problem, but its good to know now.Tanks No such thing as zero population growth.

Zero Population Growth.....Did you not read the preceding posts?!?!?! Everyone is complaining about TOURIST traffic - you know those people...the ones who come, spend money to reduce your taxes....then go home where they complain about people moving in and making their backyard unsustainable. Moron.

They come from near, they come from far, they come from here, they come from there....they come from everywhere. Have you not ever visited our beautiful beaches? If you have, and driven on I-64...you would completely understand the comments, and using that lump sitting on your shoulders come to the conclusions that the people visiting (and resultant increase in traffic) are not adding to the population - they are spending what little bit of money the government hasn't confiscated for some rest, relaxation and fun.

We still need the roads upgraded. Whoever was contracted by VDOT to do the roads between Richmond and Va Beach in the not too distant past ripped the people off. What a mess.
