The faith of Miss Jeannette saddens me. Being a life long native of Newport News east end. for 31yrs, We who live here see a lot of tragedies but you can't prepare your self for things like this that unfortunately happens. I wish that people would understand that you are no more safe in a suv then that of a motorcycle. At high speeds your chances of losing control is severely increased. I own a oversized top heavy suv and i will always know that once air born its not a matter of will it roll but when, and once started only time will stop it. R.I.P Jeanette And may GOD bless your babies.

so sorry to hear about this . I think I may know this womans family, but cant be sure as I now live in tenn. Whoever she is may she have accepted Jesus as her savior and may she rest in peace and may her family find peace. I just wonder why the driver ran at first, but he must have a conscience as he did return. People get ready, change your ways and your life. this life on earth is only for a minute . Lets not go to sleep and wake up in a hell worst than the one we're living in.

Sixth time cited for driving on a suspended license??? Who is the judge who let this criminal back out on the street? If he does not get a life sentence, there is no justice in the world.

I agree with VB Dad, why was this guy not locked up for driving how many times on a suspened driver's license, it was just a matter of time before this caught up with him and unfortunately killed someone else, makes me sick our justice system

First of all condolences to the family for your loss. Our fine court system obviously at work again. When will the judges and lawyers for that matter ever be held accountable for their actions????

I pray for her young children that now have to grow up without a mother. My teenage daughter is a close friend of Ms. Watford's daughter and she really has grown up in the past 48 hours. Now they both have to grow up much faster than we would want them too. More often now I hear "I love you mom" even when passing by. Sad situation, I hopw we can all pitch in and become a village to help raise the motherless children.

The property damage and loss of life this Drunk causes, and all he's charged with is manslaughter. It's time to stop accepting the unacceptable. There are motherless children left behind. I don't see why in cases of willfull neglect for the law and community this clown should not fact a Firing Squad on the Public Square.

Drunk speeding drivers on residential streets are as harmful in America as any terrorist bomber.

See what has to happen before a real judge will lock these type of suckers up for life so now we have to take our tax dollars and take care of them for the rest of there lives better yet give them the electric chair. They are only a menace to society anyway. While these poor little children are without their mother. Also penalize the cab company or better yet shut them down because they let anybody drive a cab. Drunks, crackheads, dope sellers, dope users you name it. I told you so that's why you can even drive a taxi without a license in Virginia.Fine the cab company so big that it will take care of these children until they reach age of 25 and send them to the best college in the world and make the cab driver and company pay the tab. Virginia is so money hungry that is why Ellis the drunk runaway driver and the no license cabbie know those sorry judges in the system that is why they both has been doing this for a long time. No license and drinking and driving.Dumb and Dumber we the people will be waiting to see where you clowns will meet again.I hope you two aren't put in the same jail cells and end up being lovers. We'll wait and see because hopefully this time if the judge screw this one up we may have to lock him up with you freaks and then you three can have threesomes in the cell.

The devastation that this atrocity has caused is unsurmountable. I can not believe that this man has gotten away with this for not 1, but 6 times? God have mercy on your soul. Now 2 children will be without a mother, Mr. Ellis should be sued, hung and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, along with the cab company, and the cab driver.

R.I.P. Ms. Watford, God is prepared for you, enter your rest.

They are really hard on suspended drivers especially after the 3rd offense, Cant believe this happened. No body drives on a suspended license in Newport News. Wake up and smell the rotten broken criminal justice system.

This thug had been charged with everything from Robbery, firearm by felon, grand larceny, Etc. A record longer than his arm.

Be very afraid, there are many more thugs like him not in prison for life, walking/driving on the streets when they should be in prison.
