I live in the area and believe me nobody out their own a Lexus, Bmw or Esclade! & free rent? Since when? You people are funny! RENT IS NOT FREE! And if you paid attention public housing and public assitance is design to keep people in proverty and not get them out. Everyone doesn't come from a family of money and sometimes it is easier to do wrong then right. We live in a society where if you get into any type of legal trouble you can't get an apartment, job or etc. So you must ask yourself, how are people going to get ahead if the system keep knocking them down? And who brings the drugs and guns to this country? I don't think its the people who live in the projects. It's the government that allow this corruption, so before we past judgment let's gets to the root of the problem! Let's stop these white collar crimes then we can get some where....oh oh my bad da white people making money off it, so it will never stop until it affect your community uh?
Get back in school and learn proper spelling and grammar. That would be a good start in getting ahead in life. Step 2, don't get into legal trouble and you won't have a problem getting an apartment or job. Step 3, knock that racist chip of your shoulder.

Or tearing it up as they did some years ago when I handled repair calls where II worked. Not a day went by that we didn't get a repair call to fix something at Dorrie Miller Rec. Such fine upstanding gangbangers...

Maybe a community center would have prevented this violence.
I use to buy lottery tickets at that Red Barn when in NN back in 91. People there were very friendly back then. There was laundry mat also nearby. I could do 2 loads for 1.50

Black people will never get their shit together until they WANT to get their shit together. Until then, we can't do a damn thing. We can donate, volunteer, and help communities like this all we want, it doesn't mean it's going to do any good. We have to get up and stop making excuses as to why we can't get a decent job or why we live in areas like this. It's no one elses fault but ours. We have to go back to school, get a degree, and take of our young ones so that they don't have to deal with the same things. Any parent should want better for their children...and if you're a good parent you wouldn't TRY to do better, you WOULD do better. I am biracial, my mother was a black single mother. I lived in aqueduct for 10 years, and then my mom educated herself, got a better job, and told me to do the same. She lives in a nice house in a quiet neighborhood. and I am 18 and in college and doing very well. All of these excuse black people make is bullshit. My mother did it with 3 kids and now we're all doing what we can to better ourselves, and black people in poverty can do the same. They just have to WANT it. We can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do.

I lived in Aqueduct Apts before the housing authority took over it s d started allowing low income people to move in. We saw a drastic change in the people and the environment. Yes, there were women there that had drug dealers in there that drove fancy cars and the ladies wore name brand clothes and had expensive jewelry, bur yet still had a monthly check of 400.00 and had food stamps.
