Police arrest four in attempted arson

Two adults and two juveniles have been charged with attempted arson after gasoline was poured over the porch and driveway of a house in Newport News and over a car.

So, what possesses folks to try to burn down somebody's house? It looks like they are throwing the book at them, as they should.

Has anyone seen the rap sheet on the keenan kid? Its a mile long. Seems like he should have never even had the opportunity to even be out on the street. Some sort of rehabilitation facility would have been more suited for a home. This kid has been a menace to society for a long time I just hope that they finaly throw the book at him and maybe this time daddy wont be able to bail him out !!!

WILL IT BE PAID?? I am a VICTIM of Kenan Criste He stole from me numerous times but convicted of only one break in.The Judge ordered him to pay me for damages to my property & items that were stolen, that was almost a year ago I havent seen a dime. Society cant Blame Poor Kenan for everything he has done, His Dad "The Proud JAMES CRISTE" has to take ALOT of the credit for such an OUT STANDING CITIZEN his SON turned out to be! I would suggest he take some parenting classes he still has 2 more teenagers to raise!

I'm TIRED of this kid getting away with everything. HE should get what is coming too him, and should have also gotten attempted murder! I mean come on there were people in the house when they attempted to burn it down!! Seriously, I highly doubt that parenting classes would help this dad out. I dont know who you are but your right, from what Ive learned the legal system lets them off as long as they are minors, Well guess what Kenan has to step up to the plate & be a man legally!

So true maybe if thier parents were humilated in the public before they turn 18 the parent might actually correct the problem before it comes to burning someones car & home! Wake up people STOP ENABLING!!

Please, Daddy never sees nothing wrong with Kenan and never will believe he is ever at fault. Likes to spread rumors that are false . Hmmmmmmm , Well you can see where his kid gets his trates from . I do Believe that if Kenan would have had to take responsibilities at an earlier age than maybe he would have been a better person as an adult . So here is what i ask ? Who is the real Guilty Person James (the father) and should he be punished ? LOL Dang James don't think you can write letters of apologies for your son this time . What a scary story, yep juvenilles should be named and it sounds like this Kenan kid is a complete nightmare! He'll probably get 3 years max. if that. The juvenille delinquents will probably just get probation. Very scary.

I guess pat in newport news knows everything that goes on in that guy kenans house with his father, she sure is judgemental she must be perfect. But I heard she lived with a druggie and smoked weed , and she partys alot drinking,etc. I also heard kenans big brother was a decorated marine and his other big brother was doing good, so his father cant be all that bad. And that father must have done something right to have 2 good sons, I wonder why the younger one didnt follow his big brother's examples?? But how could that father have done so bad? I am very sure that none of you know the entire story......, I don't care what the prior crimes were especialy since they were closed and prior to being an adult...all of you should grow up and instead of passing judgement on him think of this.....what would you do if it was your child would you want people talking about your child like this???? think about it hard before you say anything...as a parent you would defend your child at any point..and if you say you wouldn't your a lier....with the measure you judge someone, you will be judged with the same...don't forget that!!!

Pat, how dare you talk down about our father? What do you know of him? Him, the one, and (other than our late grandfather) ONLY good influence in Kenan's life? Why would you lay the blame on him? Why not blame his mother, who raised him for the first 16 years of his life before dumping him on the streets? Why not blame his step-mother, who's foul, rotten, and emotionally abusive attitude is the main reason for Kenan's not wanting to stay in his own home? Why not blame the public school system, who refused to work with Kenan and abandoned him, forcing him to seek a GED on his own? Why not blame the Commonwealth's judicial system, whose hypocritical rulings cause non-violent criminals to spend more time behind bars than even pedophiles? Seriously, what is wrong with you? He was convicted of breaking and entering and stealing from you? Has anyone taken a good look at that case? Kenan didn't do it. There is absolutely no proof at all that he did. The one "witness" that says he did it has third-hand knowledge of the incident, at best.
And yes, Jimmy P, I'm sorry I could not have had a firmer hand in disciplining my little brother. I'm sorry the President your country elected decided it was better for me to spend 22 months of my life in Iraq, fighting his war of terror, than to spend that time at home, with my wife, with my brother, with my friends and family. Big Brother you can't Blame yourself for doing something good in your life. But as far as your little brother has had alot of problems for a while in which James looked the other way . As far as the stepmother all i have known is that she wanted your younger brother to get the help he needed and it was not by your daddy . Maybe alot of things would be different now if he had the help at an earlier age
