This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. They have documented over 460 of these types of inicidents since just the beginning of 2008.

There is absolutely no way that this accusation can be the truth. I have been an employee of his for four years at Two Rivers and have known him for even longer. I've taught swim lessons with him and even helped him out with Summer Fun Camp throughout the years. Mark is known and loved by everyone in Governor's Land and I'm sure that same sentiment is felt by his students at Woodside. Never once has he exhibited any kind of inappropriate behavior. There is just no way that I can believe that Mark did anything of the sort and I am sad that something like this has to happen to him. He does not deserve this, and I'm sure that the rest of my friends and fellow lifeguards would agree. Let us all remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

I for one don't want to believe this. As a child I use to hang out with his nephew and his brother. I don't think that he would ever do something like this.

Since some of you are clearly clueless when it comes to law enforcement and the legal system, let me fill you in. I have personally witnessed elementary school teachers keep their jobs after being caught engaged in soliciting prostitutes, indecent exposure, illegal narcotics, etc. As long as they plead guilty to the charge and get probation, they will not be fired from their place of employment. Just because you know someone, that does not mean you know what they do behind closed doors.

Thank you for schooling us. But just because a teenager says something, does not mean it should be trusted. In fact, nowadays, unless I personally know the teenager, I'm going to trust the adult I know a lot quicker. But thanks again for the lesson.

Well, judging is something that we should all be doing, especially looking in the mirror...
Who is right or wrong is not the questions we should be asking but why? The police dont just arrest these types of criminals without sound evidence! It is not only the word of a child but hard facts.

When do you talk to him? What experiences with him have led you to label him a "perv?" It seems that everyone who has commented on these forums that know Mr. Yewcic have had the opposite reaction to this news. So, please, give some examples of times when he has acted like a "perv."

Hey HG or who/whatever you are, can't help but notice when I read this thread and others how your posts seem to get deleted by Topix. Even the monitor seems to think your posts are racist and offensive not just the locals in NN. LOL...you're such the loser. Nobody wants to hear ya and Topix doesn't want to post ya.

this guy is such a butt sometimes these types of things make you wonder where the adult supervision is and why was this 17 year old child aloud alone with this teacher behind door. Was he special, or willing the student that is.

I agree with most of that but the thing is that i thought he was a cool guy and so did the rest of my class his subject was boring but he was a cool guy when he talked about other stuff then his subject.... But i cant help thinking what if the 17 year old was makeing this up he will have sent a good man to jail.. i just cant see him doing this to a student

Mark Yewcic was my golf and baseball coach and also my health teacher at Ferguson High school over. He was the kind of guy that cared about his kids, and that was it. My guess is that someone took his kindness the wrong way and made this story up out of shame. I hope that's the way the story unfolds and Coach Yewcic can return to a normal life.

I don't know what to think about it. I had his class just recently and he kinda creeped me out. Its kinda hard to explain, but he was a little weird. he would yell at us for no/little reason. I don't know something just seemed a little off.
