Great, now we can't go to the Mall for fear of getting shot! I was just there and left at seven o'clock. There were Cops everywhere walking and talking to people.

Thugs moving on up to the West side! Sing it with me children! Another reason why everyone should have a concealed weapons permit and justice could have been taken care of right then and there! Say Amen Children!

Wait...where were the unarmed security guards or the Newport News Police? Why didn't they prevent this robbery/shooting?

The very reason my family and I do not visit the Patrick Henry Mall is because they prohibit lawful carrying of a handgun for personal protection. Then again...the only people who obey laws are law abiding people like me and you.

There are thousands of other merchants in the Tidewater that respect our right to personal protection. I enjoy spending my money with them.

Remember to pack your heater to fend off gangsters and thugs. Getting a concealed weapon permit should be mandatory for all non-thugs living in Newport news.

All these thugs roaming the streets are an unintended result of welfare programs. This is the result of giving people money they did not earn.

Patrick Henry was one place left that was safe. Bring Roger Brown back to the mall!

Like the article said...armed robberies are extremely rare at Patrick Henry Mall. Have no fear... holiday commercialism will not be impeded in any way.

Chet - where at Patrick Henry Mall are the signs saying CCW is prohibited there? I've carried at that mall many times, and haven't seen any such notice. Also, Patrick Henry Mall isn't listed on VCDL's "Gun Owner-Unfriendly Businesses" page:

If I'm wrong, I'll be joining you in taking my business elsewhere.

Thatis because the system has them convinced that having babies out of wedlock is full time job! And many have found a way to do this all the way to retirement!

Its not fair to ask why the Police didn't prevent this. Between the car crashes and other incidents they deal with they cannot be in all places at all times. I also left at 7 and I saw at least 3 uniformed NNPD officers in and around the Mall I also saw at least 4 marked cars. I don't know 4maybe 4 cops and who knows how many UNARMED Security Guards, its easy to see how this happened.

Now on the other hand, I completely agree with the rest of your post! I carry in the Mall, What can they do? Ban me from ever returning.

Great CHET, now you are telling all the thugs where to go. This woman probably wouldn't have had time to react if she had had a gun. But now, thanks to you, you have told me and the thugs, something I didn't know. But, then again, I don't go to malls.

This is just the begining.. with high gas prices and defaulted morgages, lost of jobs we will all pay the price, the por lady today was robbed right in her own driveway in james county, did these thugs follow her home? The police can't be everywhere.. For all of you that do carry a gun please be careful and use them with respect, protection don't mean to use for road rage or vebal abuse..

Equalizer: I would be willing to say, if they catch them, they will be under the age of 21! They are probably from a single parent home or possibly from parents who didn't take the time to teach them good ways. They could be the children of alcoholics or just underpriviledged. Their parents could be alcoholics and also, the kids have probably been in trouble before but maybe not to this extent. Also, I think the police should check to see who "used" to hang out at Coliseum Mall and cause trouble because that's probably where they originated. Just a guess.

i couldnt agree more ive lived here all my life, as a boy i and all the other kids over twelve could and hunt and shoot 22 rifles on the same property these plases are now built on, and back then if you even heard of a shooting it was the talk of the town for days,it is a sad truth that 12 year olds then were more responsible than the grown people of today . these animals need to be hunted with no bag limit!!!!!

No! I doubt that they are from a home with alcoholics! They are from a home that supports the Democratic party who supports govt. programs to help the poor never have to get off thier ass and prove themselves! It is time we all wake up and say screw PC and tell it the way it is! If we continue to hand out to everyone who should go out and find a job then this type of activity will continue! It does not matter what the color of your skin is! It may be tougher but anyone can make it in this country if they learn good work ethic and try to do something! It's time to stop the blame game and hold people to the actions they take! A lot of folks came from crap and found a way out and it did not involve breaking the law!

I thought it ws getting cloudy over there. What a shame! You build a nice family oriented shopping center & cock roaches come out of the wood work.

It really is a true shame that people can't go anywhere w/o fearing for their famly's safety even if you are packing heat.
