Who decided to have Howard Gwynn as the keynote speaker at Foster's ceremony. She couldn't make a decision unless she conferred with Gwynn first. Had she separted herself from Gwynn she would have been a better judge, but she allowed Gwynn's office to tell her what to do so people stayed away from her. Maybe we need new leadership from the Bar Association

NN is probably the most corrupt city in the State. The Tidewater area is the small fraction of liberals left as Nov 2, the State went red/Republican.
If you only knew how unqualified these judges are, you would think it was Moscow 1980. They can sign search warrants, disregard the law, not to mention there are several judges who use signals frm the bench, to the prosecution, if the case is going nowhere.eom

You should learn to spell unless you have a hidden agenda, but the question has not been addressed. Who made Howard Gwynn the keynote speaker? We have had enough of Mr. Gwynn and the many issues he has dealt with since becoming the commonwealt attorney, so it is time for him to move on and take two of his deputies with him. I dreaded dealing with that office when I was on the streets because many of the attorneys are nuts to put it nicely. We really need a change.

I always liked going to courtroom 5 because that is where James Fox was told to hire Cory Hall back or go to jail.

What a good day that was. Guess you cant push everybody around Jimmy.

A group of more than 200 Virginia residents, calling themselves the "Pitchfork Rebellion" and frustrated with the way the state selects judges, wants the public to have more say in who sits on the bench and for how long. Virginia is one of only two states, along with South Carolina, that empower their state legislatures to pick state judges, a process primarily conducted behind closed doors.

The citizens group is advocating term limits for judges and an overhaul of the state's process of evaluating judges. It also wants public participation in judicial selection from start to finish, hearings that are open to the public and anonymity or immunity for those who testify against sitting judges.

The group has organized over opposition to the reappointment of several circuit court judges, including Fairfax County Judge Gaylord L. Finch Jr., who was recently up for another eight-year term before the Virginia General Assembly. Finch also served for 19 years as a juvenile court judge.

In Newport News the following need to be investigated and then removed: Alford Masters, he is the laughing stock of the legal community. Bryant Sugg is just stupid but is a nice guy and does not understand the law, he took the bar exam 6 times and does whatever the commonwealth attorney tells him. Gary Mills is a smart guy but is really mean and has an out of controll temper. Peter Tench is an Ok judge but he goes out of his way to please the commonwealth. There are more but these are the ones who are afraid to apply the law if they understand it and spend all their time trying to make certain they get appointed again.

I live next door to a judge who brags all the time about he only has to work 12 years to get full retirement. He will be paid 90% of his $150,000 salary for life. AS a lawyer he could not make a living as a lawyer so he was made a judge. Need I say more

There is something missing with this story. Why can't the truth be known; afraid the truth will hurt?

IMO, I think Judges are on a quota system just like the cops, specifically trffic courts;ie A 'loser personal injury lawyer,' now judge, gets his marching orders for that new FOP.
So, the Judge needs to convict, for example, 18 or 19 out of 20 traffic tickets. That is $61 in court cost that last about 5 minutes or less,$6 dollars for 'every mile' over. One day can bring in 1000s $$.
Most liberal areas as Tidewater, having traveled in the NAVY, are union thugs and waste money to get votes. The boy-toy robo cop is the collector while over 1000 utstandg warrants are walking the streets.Mr R

I use to rent a home in the Buckroe area before buying in Poquoson. Many of the people were renters and low income, black and white. The HPD would actually write parking tickets on side streets, with 3 or 4 homes. My neighbor ended up parking in his yard. In fact, if you travel through that section, many vehicles are parked on the front yard.
These thug Gov't Union cops would suck everyone. They also had laser scam Lidar(radar) and would sit in private lots at night, right where the limit drops from 35 to 30. The judges would see it as an insult to plead not guilty. All Union Thugs...
