My little sister has lost 10-15 pounds since being in this facility and has gained several black eyes. There is never anyone in her unit to answer the phone. I call almost everyday between 7 and 9 (calling hours) and it always rings once and goes to voicemail/answering machine. Apparently no one is being paid to answer the phone. I have a very low opinion of this facility. They have been entrusted with the physical and emotional welfare of our youth and seem to lack even the basic skills needed to perform the simplest of job functions (i.e. answering a phone). I would give a half star if such an option were available.

my experience with this facility is that administration manipulates the resident and threatening them of engageing in any outside interviews and give negative consequences if they report any inside incidence. this facility also removed all policy and proceduers off every unit so that staff will not be educated on the facility policies

I must say I am very pleased with this facility. My son was placed there for 6 months and he made much progress. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Only thing bad I can say is that I wish they would provide more community based programs.

ARE YOU SURE? THEY WILL GET YOUR KIDS IN THERE AND KEEP THEM FOR 2-3 YEARS. THEY ARE NOT BEING SUPERVISE BY QULAFIED MHC AND DIRECT NURSES. WHEN YOUTH ASK TO SPEAK TO DEPARTMENT HEADS THEY NEVER ADDRESS THE YOUTH NEEDS. NO SUPERVISION AND ACCOUNTABILITY ON NURSING.

I was there for 6 months. I was raped once, assaulted three times (once by staff), and left to suffer emotional and physical pain (I signed myself into treatment for my addiction, and they said this would be a good place). Let's just say it's been 3 years since my release in 2008 and I'm still emotionally hurt from my experience. I'm 18 now, and nothing happened! They told me that I would be there 3 months! The therapist never did anything, the staff are corrupt, the nurses are ok?, and the administration don't do anything...and they erased all the camera shots of the staff member assaulting me...and when I wanted to press charges against the kids who assaulted me, they said I had no right to.

Please contact me if you read this Sean Mansfield. My girlfriends daughter is in there right now. She needs help. The part about the negative consequences for complaining sounds distubingly familiar along with the erasing of videotaped assaults. I'm really worried. Please have the courage to complain and press proper charges. If you already have a lawyer, please direct me in his direction so that we may proceed accordingly. We never need to know your name, or anything about you. Please, what happenned to you is horrible. But preventing it from happenning to others may be
the only good that can come from it. PLEASE. if you have specific information, post it on this forum. I will check daily.

My daughter was placed in Keystone by court order and her stay was awful. She was admitted for Bipolar disorder and ADHD. She was heavily medicated , assaulted by other residents and staff and as stated in other reviews of this facility video of these assaults were erased. Although video was erased I took pictures of her bruises and injuries. They can't erase those. Please if you love your children, don't send them to this facility.

Oh man.... Where do I start. Keystone Newport News is a chotic enviroment. When I was thirteen I was admitted to the facility and for that long 10 months of my life i was raised by this "prison" of residentials. I was jumped in my room by 4 people and when i told staff, they said "we saw no one go in your room Keiffer." Oh wow. A thirteen gets jumped and walks out of his room with a bloody nose and no consequenses are handed out because they saw no one come in my room and there are no cameras in my room? Are you fucking kidding me??!?!?!? Excuse my language but this place is so .... hell. But i did have some problems. I was a very angry person. But I feel that I did not desereve to go through that treatment for a total of 14 months. Also it did not Help me in any way. when i got out in June 08 i was fine for some weeks. Then I was stupid enough to get myself into some more trouble that lead me to go again for another run. This time four months later I showed my mother my bruises on my back and she flipped SHIT. Pulled me out. It was kinda funny though because they wanted to keep me. But mom still pulled me out and Demanded to see the tapes. They said we cannot see them, and they would do an investagation on the staff member who assulted me. couple weeks later a letter claimed they found nothing on the situaition.

I want to get this place shut down.
No kid should go through this. Ever. Again.

If someones got some advice my Email is
[email protected]

and if someones looking to see how this place is, and might place their child in keystone,
DONT.
