Aren't you the computer and geography genius. I live in the west end and it comes up Covington. They are real close you know. Why would I even care if I lived in Covington?

You work 185 days a year. That's a darn good salary for a part time job!

..... interbreading ... did you maybe mean inbreeding?? You're a teacher with questionable writing and spelling skills who is making $62,000 for basically nine months work which is more than many of us are making for working a full year. Count your blessings and, if you need to supplement your income like many of us do these days, you have three free months to do so!

Newport Board Candidates wrote:
We are the four candidates running to take back Newport schools. We sent out a handout that several of the current board members have attempted to say is all untrue or gossip - so this is our response and these are our sources: Cincinnati Enquirer, the board minutes that are freely available to the public upon request, the Kentucky Department of Education, the audit report done by a private auditing firm for the Board of Education, and the Office of Education Accountability, several current and former employees of the district, as well as four former board memebers. We are not puppets as Ms. Sheffel is trying to say. Every decision we make is based on what we believe is best for our children. Our main difference between our positions and that of the current board members is: we are against financial waste and we believe that until the Newport schools are performing at above-average levels there should be a process whereby students can opt to attend other public schools and have their SEEK funds follow them. We believe that our children deserve the best education possible. We believe that with our strong leadership Newport can create that educational environment. To accomplish these goals we must have more than one vote of like minded people. That is why we are running together. We ask for your support. Dave Amanns, Shawn Thacker, Theresa Miller, Rob Rummel.
I think the real 'puppets' here are the current board members who made up a job paying $95,000 added $1300 monthly for rent and then handed it to their new Super's gal pal from Mason County. Didn't take Middy long to figure out how to pull their strings now, did it?

It is nice to see that the new candidates do care, and are willing to try to do something about the corruption with our current board. I see no one else trying to do anything about the current issues, and people, even if you do not have children in the school system this is your tax dollars wasting away. So for those of you who are only complaining about the new candidates you get off YOUR %^%^%%&% and do something about it. HIPOCRITES.

Dennis Keene tried to pass a bill that would outlaw door hangers. Talk about wasted money. And this would be statewide. He is up for re-election, don't waste a vote on this goofball.

Well said. I believe you are the army with the compassion and fortiude to fight for these students. Saviors of the meek, which the city is full of. These kids need someone to show them more than life in newport exists and to motivate them to achieve.

election is alomost over with if we dont let these new candidates try to bring back education for our kids then we will fail as a district and if the people from newport think that the current board is doing a hell of a job then you dont care what happens yo your kids education so to the new candidates you have my vote and my wifes vote. I cant speak for the city but if you are a home owner and you vote for the current board members just hand them over your wallets cause they are trying to raise you property taxs and it will show that with in a few years that state will have full control of all newport schools and i say if the teacher do not want to give our kids the best education possible then replace them with teacher that want to teach shit ill do it for free cause i belive they need all the education possible thank oh i haved lived in newport all my life i bleed red and black go wildcats

First order of business if we have a majotity is to 1, Have state audit with same firm as Mason Co. and focus on Brandt Sowinsky Turner and what Middleton had done to date. Get to the truth and find out why Sowinsky took his files and did not turn them over to auditor. Why did financial officer of district destroy document before and during audit. 2, We will and I promise, get our scores up or find people who will get the job done period. If Newport cant provide a quality education to our children, then we will allow then a quality education elsewhere. You see, this world is a world in which children are our greatest asset, and if we dont do something to grow and nourish that asset, then who will, and please for our childrens sake vote Tuesday and may God Bless all of you . Probably because Brandt and his boys kept a lot from the board and Rummel didnt know what was really going on. Rimmel was on the board during the time when Brandt had all of his mafia in positions here. Total image control for Brandt.
