Where is animal control in Newport? There are so many stray animals it looks like a zoo. Not to mention the crap on the sidewalks. What happened to the ordiance that people had to have animals on a leash or inside their yards, and why don't they have to clean up after them?

So you have noticed all the strays too, where is animal control? I don't appreciate stepping in dog or cat crap every time I go to my car, I don't have animals so why is it always in front of my house?

good question...i have so many stray cats running through and "living" in my yard, using my flower beds as their litter box, it isn't funny...i have dog poo in my yard, which is fenced in, so i have no idea how that happens...and i live in the west end...oh, and own no pets...but find myself cleaning it up anyway, so i don't step in it...

Solution:
To keep OUT the cats- put out moth balls and of course don't put out food.

To keep out the dogs- tell the owner to keep his or her dog(s) out.

K-Mart has doggie dont signs for 1.99.
If those signs won't work any signs that the city puts out won't work either

OK the answer is you won't pick up trash or crap thats not yours. Self serving aren't you, if there is nothing in for me I am not doing it. Call the police maybe they will pick it up.

You need an animal so you won't be so grumpy. Walgreens sells rubber gloves, I don't like picking that stuff up either.

Who's grumpy? Just because I don't want to spend half my day cleaning up after other people's animals does not make me grumpy. If I wanted to do that then I would own 2 or 3 pets to clean after. Having a pet means you the pet owner is responsible for that animal, not the neighbors.

Maybe the police have other things to do besides pick up crap, that is what the owner is for, animal control should be issuing citations left and right for all these animals roaming around the city. And NO I will not clean up other people's crap.

You are so small town. Peoplein the place I'm from did there share and didn't make others do for them. Your solution is to cite everyone. I live in Newport and you must be in another city named Newport. The animals here are no problem, every once in a while I have to pick up some stuff. So what, its part of cleaning my yard which I take it you don't since your not cleaning other peoples crap. I hope your neighbors are kind and can understand you. You sound so selfish.

Hey sILLY please feel free to clean every street in Newport, I would very much appreciate it if you would start in the east end and work your way down. I take care of myself and I don't ask people to clean up after me, so if you consider that selfish then that's on you. I take care of myself, not cleaning other people's animal crap. Where is Animal Control? That was my question in the first place. How many animals do you own?

You need to feel good about the simple fact you live in a good place among others and need to get along with them and not attack something so petty. I'll tell you where animal control is, Its there when you have a real problem. If crap is the problem then deal with it, everyone else does. Animals don't complain about you and how you destroy their habitat an devalue their existence. Do something positive take a stray off the street and give it a home. I'm not listening to this anymore. Get involved and quit making someone else do something for you, do it yourself. I see people constantly picking trash up more than crap, maybe animal control should go after people.

I thought you didn't ask people to clean up after you, so you ask silly to do so. You absolutely are annoying.

You people need to go to anger management classes, why does it bother you that I don't want to clean up other people's dog and cat crap? That choice is up to each person, and like I said if you want to clean it up please feel free, however, I will walk around it, jump over it, before I clean it up. My question was Where is Animal Control, not am I willing to clean up after other people's animals?

tried the mothballs last year, just made my yard and anything within 10 feet of my yard smell like old people lived here...lol...any other suggestions...we tried the animal repellant stuff we got at lowe's...had the city leave a trap to catch the darn things...they somehow managed to get out of the trap, but left a lot of fur behind...and, i don't feed them...and as far as the dog is concerned, i don't know which dog it is...

If you will read my post I did not ask silly to clean up after me, I said he/she could feel free to clean if that is what they want to do, so can you for that matter.

Obviously, these are angry people who allow THEIR pets to crap everywhere and don't want to clean it. Don't waste your time on them. I'd like to know where animal control is as well.
