I see the west end, and it is incredible. All of the new homes on liberty--this is true urban living, and it looks great. The levee--better than any mall or shopping center in a 100 mile radius.

entertainment everywhere, the streets seem safe and clean.

As a whole wow have we improved over the past 10 years!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems to me that those who live in the West End should be the ones making the difference....

Obviously you have not been down to the REAL WEST END, take a drive down Ann or Liberty, Central, Isabella any street from Monmouth down and see the filth. As far as the new HUD homes they are building, give them 6 months and they will blend right in. People who don't have to WORK for something don't care how they treat it, they know they will move on when they are evicted.

I used to live in newport actually grew up there until I was about 13. I recently went back there in June of last yr. an I couldnt beleive it, I didnt know where anything was. I couldnt beleive how much it had gone done hill. I mean it wasnt the best when i lived there before, but still it looked better then.

Newport could potentially become greater than Ft. Thomas, or any other surrounding area, but it will not happen. The people in Newport lack class, and the city officials love having low end housing because they have their hands in the pot w/ these places.

Enough of the trash talk about the West End. I turned out all right. I will put the families of the Romitos, Gronecks, Rankins, Seiberts and Krebs against any of the hillbillys from the hill anyday. Just cause we kicked the bowling alleys boys butt all the time, no need to hold a grudge.

The west end has turned out some really great people.

Almost forgot the Sharp family, the Stutlers and Reinharts, probably think about it and come up with more... how about John & Gary Neece? At least half the levee is in the West End

One more thing, if Tim Freudenberg hadn't died at 29, he would be Governor by now. Yeah, you got me mad with this west end crap.
