Maybe they are trying to cure the problem BEFORE the kids get to 4th street... teach them some respect and they might not get in trouble at school. Glad I have a great kid!! AP is doing his job - he is great.

If he is curing the problem then why do they need ISD for 7 and 8 year olds? ISD doesn't teach, it punishes.

maybe because the parents haven't done their job to teach the kids respect... now the school has to go to extreme measures - it's a shame. It punishes...it teaches a lesson.

DETENTION for children under six is nuts. Teachers want DETENTION so they can go out for their smoke break. AP needs to do his job and take care of the kids so the teachers can smoke.

Hey wow, the Louisville poster, you live far enough from Newport to be considered for a job. Do you know Middy?

I agree detention for primary school kids is absolutely nuts. But the way I see it, most of these kids act like their parents, which is not saying much at all. The cure to the problem here: parents need to do some parenting. Give your kids some consequences at home - including if they act up in school. no, I do not know Middy, and no, I am not happy with the school board either.. but like I said, the problems would not be so out of control if the parents cared. Which most of them do not.. I mean they don't even care about their appearances... have you seen all the pajama pants at pick up?!

I think the AP needs to be the heavy in the school. Are they too hard for him to handle?

Sad truth is that no matter what special treatment Missy gets for her kids - they are still going to be poorly prepared for the real world. They'll just think they can compete because they've been told they're "special" and have the fantasy that they actually learned something.
