This hospital is a joke.
I think that you are a joke. You need to go to some other ERs and see for yourself that some people with serious injuries are waiting in the waiting room with more than a broken collar bone. That is all he had for an injury. I think that you should have waited because you do not know what behind the other side of the door. By the way dummy, the receptionists do render any medical treatment, so why are you watching them anyway. I have been to a number of ER in different states and in every one of those ERs, I had to wait. I even waited for 13 hours at Arkansas Children Hospital for my child to be seen. What you need to realize is that there is always someone sicker than you or your family members. You need to realize that. ERs all over the country are business and overcrowded with people like you. Be grateful that we can go to a place that can she you faster than your family doctor, who may tell you that I can see you in 2 wks. Stop being a fucking pussy and wait it out bitch!

That is a great ideal. If you are not happy with the services, then go to another ER. However, you must remember that other hospital is also going to ask you about insurance and however you plan on paying the services render. Whether it be the ER, clinic, hospita, etc, you must pay a bill for the services. Do you have a job? If yes, then do you expect to receive payment for your services. Stop being cheap and get a job. Matter of fact, go get two and possibly as many as you can get to keep your standard of living. But, remember, you need to pay your ER and hospital bill. OK.

Yeah it's usually a 5 hour wait. Harris Hospital Emergency Room is a joke. Especially that negro doctor they have there most of the time. Jabbar Joshua or Joshua Jabbar. He is lazy and you can not understand him when he speaks. If you can spare 30 or 40 minutes, I would suggest going to Jonesboro or Batesville Emergency room. And to "guest"(Tyler, TX) You can't always see a family doctor. Especally on Sunday.
I don't think so! Haven't you been to White River Medical Center in Batesville,AR, St. Bernard or NEA in Jonesboro, AR, White Count Medical Center in Search, AR, Springhill Baptist in NLR, AR, St. Vincent North in Sherwood, AR, UAMS in Little, Rock, Big Baptist and St. Vincent in Little Rock, AR with long as wait times of 6 - 8 hours. How dare you call a doctor lazy? Harris Hospital has only one ER doctor at a time working and these doctors based on the triaged system is obligated to see the sickest person first and if an ambulance come in with someone sicker than you, then get ready to wait even longer. This is how it works in the business of ER. If you have some condition that is not an emergency, then you may be waiting even longer. For faster service, hey you, go see your own personal doctor and if you did, then you will see that clinic doctors do not see you any faster than ER doctors. I admire these ER doctors everywhere including Harris, because they are working hard to see everybody for different conditions. These doctors have to juggle a lot at once. To call a doctor lazy that does all of this at once really shows that you do not know much about medicine at all. I wonder if you ever being to college and had to use that pea sized organ that you call a brain. Hey, I bet you do not even work a job daily, so you will never know what the word hardworking means. Stop being lazy, trying to get a disability check. You can see your family doctor only if you make an attempt and you got to wait on your appointment to come. Hey, do you even have a family doctor or are you substituting the ER doctor for your family doctor. Ask yourself. Stop going to the ER if an emergency does not exist and get a family doctor. Have patience and wait for your appointment.

The emergency room is for emergencies.

The emergency room is not for your migraine. Or your toothache. If your arm is falling off, go to the emergency room. If you just cut your hand off, go to the emergency room. If you just got shot, go to the emergency room. If you have an ingrown toenail, DO NOT go to the emergency room.

Unfortunately, ER wait times are long because they have to wade through the crap (stubbed toes and whatnot) before they can get to the legit patients.

Suck it up. If you don't like it, go elsewhere.
I have u know I have migraines and that is what the er is for! I pray u don't work there cause if u ever had a true migraine u would say different u dumba--

My son was in alot of pain. What if it was his appendix? And after all my pain, I finally got answers as to what was wrong with me! I had an abscess on my tube and ovary the size of a softball, the abscess was caused when COLON CANCER grew out of my colon and let some particles out. SOOOO, if the abscess has been caught at the time I was at Harris ER, I would not have lost ALL my female organs and appendix, it could have been treated while it was small.AND I would have had 1 surgery instead of 2!! Harris told me I had a bladder infection, WTH?

I love Dr kumar and Dr thomilson (can't spell his name) I never have to wait when I go to the e.r. but I guess that's cause its always an emergency. I have a rare genetic life threatening disease, I am probably one of the reasons y you have had to wait at some point.so I'm sorry , Last year I had 107 doctor visits with many different specialist , three surgeries, and three e.r visits. The ER should be for emergencies. Pain ....I live everday , I don't run to the ER. My regular doc takes care of that. Broke bones, ortho docs take care of that. Just wait it out and be tough, then you'll have bragging rights as to how tough u are. ;) peace luv hope and happiness to all

I forgot to mention, all of my joints dislocate, I have daily joint dislocations, it hurts, but I live with it everyday. Those ER visits were due to my heart, I've had heart surgery but it didn't work so we may go ahead and do a cardiac defibulator/pacemaker. And no, I am not on disability because they have denied me 7 times thanks to people who abuse the system. So remember next time you are waiting, it may be because of me. Ppl who have my disease usually die in their 20s/30's and I'm 30. There is no cure. Please understand the hospital does their best. You don't always know what they are dealing with.

I think you need to stop wasting the doctors and the ER staff time by taking your personal and not medical emergencies to the ER. Ye fool! The ER is truly for life threatening conditions and not for your personal emergencies that you failed to arrange to see your personal family physician. Just ask yourself. How many times I made the effort to go see my own doctor. I bet that you are one of those fools that does even have a family doctor. That is your shame. You are one of the reasons why the wait in the ER is long because the doctors are weeding through your bullshit before they can really see the very sick needing admission or transfer. So, with the remainder of 2011, you need to attempt to go get a family doctor instead of misusing the local ER, which is intended for medical emergencies and not your personal ones. If you are getting discharged without treatment, then that means that you can be treated by your personal doctor. Hello, wake up and smell the coffee.
You are correct ER does stand for emergency room, but who are you to tell someone what an emergency is. What may not feel like an emergency to you may to the other person. I agree with the people who dislike Harris Hospital. Recently I had to go for test, before ay test could be done I had to pay my 20%, it isn't the money I had that with no problem but what I did not like was having to deal with money issues while I was sitting there hurting not feeling good at all. If the hospital would stop putting money before the patient (and I truly believe that is the case in ER also for the ones with no insurance) and act like they are about them it would be better.
My husband was admitted to ER with heart problems, we were told he was having a heart attach, but they wanted him to lay in the hospital until Monday morning (this was on a Saturday evening) until he could see his regular doctor before they would do anything. I took him out and drove him to Little Rock. I personally will not use this hospital for as much as a splinter ever again. It is to the point I am looking for a new doctor that does not use this hospital.

You idiot! Dr. Joshua is an excellent doctor and probably one of the best in Harris ER. He has cared for many of my relative and has done a great job. He speaks very clear if you listens to the words coming out of his mouth. He is not lazy but hardworking, seeing all the patients that comes into the ER. Doctors work hard to get to where they are in life. I seriously doubt that you even have one job that you go to daily. You probably are one of those idiots on disability or trying to get it that really does not need it. You are just a waste of our tax dollar. Anyway, why are sending responses on issues related to Newport and you listed in Little Rock. My advice to you is to go get and hold down a job and you will see how lazy that you really are.

Well on two seperate situations once when I daughter had a huge staff spot on her leg , we waited 3 hours with her crying and in pain finally left went to Searcy saw the dr within 30 min , where they had to do emergency lancing of the spot impact and and they said she was in alot of pain. The second time my other daughter fell and broke her arm we waited 4 hours to see the doctor and then was sent to childrens because they said it was broke so bad they could do nothing and she would have to have emergency surgery , pins , the whole nine yards. Got to childrens the said it was a normal break that they see in kids her age all the time put a cast on it and we was out of there in 1 hour. I always take my children to Searcy Medical Center and have never waited longer than a hour to see a doctor and actually just switched their regular dr to a searcy one. As for the nurse not knowing if they were their common scence would tell you that if it was a SCHEDULED DAILY SHOT that the nurse should have been expected her or atleast thats what I think.

I once took my baby(6months) to the er because she developed a huge red spot on her breast overnight and it was a saturday so I could not take her to the dr's office. She was running a high fever causing her to have seizures and was constantly crying. We waited 5 hours to see a doctor. They finally told us they were going to ship her to childrens so they wanted to start a iv , they poked and blew my babies viens 6 times ( 3 different nurses) , I only allowed it because I was told she would have to have a iv when she got their because she was going straight to surgery. After the 8th time I finally said let them do it at childrens. We got there they gave her a a rub to num the location and said no iv was needed. They was shocked they stuck her so many times unsucessfully and said that they blew all the major veins. The nurse tole me if she needed a iv they would of had to probably shave her head and put it there.

When my daughter broke her arm (compound fracture) they got us right in, the Doctor was there in less than 10 minutes, got her arm stabilized and we were in a ambulance on the way to Little Rock to Children's hospital in less than an hour. Of course, this happened before they started using the hospitalist Doctors for everything. And.. I think some of these rude comments about what is and what's not an emergency is coming from people who are now working in the E.R ... If so, I think they need to remember if the hospital has no patients, they have no job.

I am happy things went well for your daughter and she did not have to wait for treatment. but please remember, one good experience does out weight all the bad ones. And you are correct, if they have no patients they have not got a job!

you are entitled to your opinion, but tell a man to wait from Saturday evening until Monday morning is not treating him like an emergency...I won't go there again. Had enough...

You did not read all of my post. At harris I had scheduled the shots, called before we got there and still had to wait hours. I DID ask why the long wait and was told on more than one occasion that they had FORGOT that we were there. Before you accuse some one of not having "common sense",read the full post. reading goes a long way when you know how and you can comprehend what you read.

How do you know all the rooms were empty? Did you walk around to ALL ten of the rooms?(or around 10) and just for your info, I was in an ER (not Harris) once with my child and waited almost 24 hours. And every room was not full...I have had excellent care at Harris Hospital. My family members and I have been there a few times and always get treated with respect and in a timely manner. Everytime I have to visit that hospital, I see improvements. Give them a chance. I think everyone has at least one bad experience once in a while...not saying it's ok, it's just LIFE!
24 hours in an emergency room? you could of seen a DR in less time and a lot less $.
Yes, it's just life but i want to be one of the living.lol I have had many experiences with harris since the late 70s so they have had many chances to show me and my family members the type of care that they give. If at all possible I suggest that a person who enjoys being one of the living go else where.

Harris' is just a stop until you can get somewhere else. Always been that way and will stay that way I believe. Don't know why the doctors stay around Newport anyway. If they were any good they would be in a larger town and make more money. Little Rock is not that far from Newport to go and make a better wage.
