Just found this and wanted to add my comments. This incident was not a rivalry between Weiner and Harrisburg as was stated by some earlier. I am close to the family of the boy who shot Aaron Davis and he is as good a boy as you could ever ask for. This had been brewing over a girl that his friend used to see when they were 13 years old!!! Aaron Davis had been causing trouble for them for months. If the police in Weiner would have listened to this family and done their job, this tragedy probably would have been avoided. There were threatening phone calls made and two other incidents that happened before the night of the shooting and the Weiner police ignored this. They should lose their jobs!!! One boy almost lost his life and another has had his life changed forever, as he is really having a hard time because of what has happened. Thank God Aaron Davis is going to be O.K. and praise God that the other young man wasn't charged ,as it rightfully was deemed self defense according to the law. But it still doesn't take away the hurt these two families have gone through. The mother of Aaron Davis and all the other 30 plus teenagers and men that entered that house that night, totalled two vehicles and damaged 3 others should be thanking their lucky stars that they have not yet been charged. And is this over? Some people are afraid not. Too much damage has been done emotionally and financially already. It has cost the family of the shooter over $35,000.00 so far and there is no telling how much other families have spent so far over this stupid mistake that some rough and tough guys wanted to show who they were and it went too far. Maybe they will thank their lucky stars and quit pushing people around and change their ways. The kids at Weiner were home minding their own business everytime these people came over starting trouble.I pray that this is over and people will go on with their own lives and let this be a lesson to all teenagers as to what can happen when you step out of your boundaries and do things that aren't right. Now let's hope that all the other teenagers can stay out of prison as it is probably not a good place to be.

These kids in Weiner and some that were with this boy at his house. Called these kids to come to a party, wanting to be friends. My child was one that was called to come to the party. Think God they did not go. Yes, this boy should be feeling bad, he will be living with that stupid act for the rest of his life. And his mother was as involved as the son of hers were. The reason the boy did not get charged was because the chicken call those kids, well had Aarons friend that was at his house to call him to tell him to come over, to party and there would not be any trouble. So that child knew very well what he was doing. It was on his property was the reason he was not charged. It was not just self defense. The boy knows he was wrong that is why his life has changed, and I hope his mother lives with it every day also. If it was over a girl, there is more fish in the sea. You can't get all crazy if they don't want you. Now you can see why the girl did not want to be with him. |

Yeeeee Haw! the Hatfields 'n McCoys are still alive in well in arkansas.
i grew up in that area and still laugh my ass off on these 'self inflicted' dramas. i tell my friends who want to go to foreign country to seek an adventure...hey, go up to northeast arkansas. i swear to God you'll never forget it. this is what they do to each other. what the hell do you think they'd do to tourists? "gawwwwl lee! look at them thar' city slickers. get a rope!" |

So,we are to assume that in your cosmopolitian upscale area (Texas, near Houston?) that nothing ever happens like that?
Wake up and get a clue, man. You act dumber than most folks around here. This wasn't any laughing matter by the way,Mr.Snob.Glad you're away from here or I'd be first in line to get a rope. Somebody ought to give you a few good swift kicks in the ass, that's that "hillbilly" logic you are talking about. Take a hike, you insulting SOB.And mind your own business, don't worry about what goes on around here since you think it's so funny. There was nothing to laugh about in this incident. |
If you think what happened is funny then you still have a lot of growing up to do, yes teenagers don't always make the right decision, they act more on inpulse, but I would have to say your maturity level is questionable. Do you not relize that a boys life was a stake here, You take that "City Slicker rope" and tie down a good education and on the way grab some Maturity, common sense, realization and on your dipolma, signed by a good ASS KICKING curties of the Hat Fields n' McCoys, Crowley Ridge style, A mind is a terriable thing to waste, and you seem to be a good example.!!!!!!!! |

You know its funny another town, had a huge underage drinking party and the deputy did act with these kids and he gets fired ,, Randolph County.
Sorry but anything could happened when you mix kids with alcohol. Sounds like this incident might have had some alcohol as well. I guess no one cares about someone getting fired doing their job plus keeping everyone safe. I already saw where they were blaming the police on this incident, but they do their job on another and they get fired. NEA is F'd up.. |

I don't believe the local one-cop town would have been able to handle it anyway.ANd,I think that "they" didn't think it would come to anything like this, didn't take it seriously.
That's what they get for thinking. |

We do have more than one officer in our town, but he works for the county. He and other deputies responded to this incident. I dodn't think they were made aware of what was going on until it happened.

Well probably not.I didn't mean to insult the officer or officers by implying that they did not care or check it out properly. If I gave that impression I apologize.Just wasn't thinking, but going by what "someone else who cares" said in their post about the Weiner police. They don't know what they are talking about, either, apparently.
The newspaper article clearly tells that they did respond to the incident as soon as they knew about it. They can't post an officer outside a party going on just in case "something might happen" anyway. |
