I was at the Hospital were they brought Emily.I heard the news and was so sad to hear it. My mother had a heartattack and was on the same unit. I was just wondering how she is doing? My prayer's are with the entire family.

I hope this mother had a really good reason to be out driving on a day like Saturday. She was probably going too fast for conditions and I bet on her cell phone and crossing the center line of the road. Too bad the child had to pay for her mom's actions.

The article states the copter could not even fly due to the weather conditions. A nissan Quest is one of those road hogging SUVs that usually don't stay in their own lanes.

Topix: the place where everyone goes to jump to conclusions!

What is wrong with driving in the rain? What is wrong with driving an SUV? If you have to get somewhere you get in your car and drive. Sadly a child has died and all anyone wants to do is jump to conclusions. Before you jump to conclusions, why don't you go jump off a cliff.

It was driving in a dangerous storm watch time period, not "rain" and she crossed the center line - she did not have control of her vehicle -= negligence. YOU will probably drive off a cliff some day. Own an SUV do ya?

You are a fuckstick! Has nothing to do with what type of car was being driven. Maybe you were there and now better, but I think not. You claim to be the voice of reason?

If I understand your post, people should not drive during a storm watch?

They should have a damned good reason to take a child in a car in that kind of storm.

It was raining nothing else. If there was a tornado warning, I might agree, but is was a thunderstorm watch. Big difference between the two. If you are afraid to drive in the rain, you don't belong to possess a drivers license.

My daughter is a friend of Alyssa's and our hearts are breaking for the family. I don't know the family and I was wondering if someone could tell me if Emily is married and if there are any other children. My daughter and I would like to do something special to remember her. Thank you.
Yes she is married... she also does have a 4 yr old sister. I am sure anything you do would be appreciated by the family.

you know this is ignorant and stupid comment. a tragic accident happened... an innocent child died. You don't know shit about how she was driving or what she was doing... it was wet and ANYONE can easily lose control of a vehicle suv, car, etc... doesn't matter. Its people like you who should be banned from making comments that are uncalled for. ASSUMING something you have no proof of.

I hope you stay home every time it rains or snows... because heaven forbid if you one day cause an accident and someone gets seriously injured and people assume that you were driving too fast, talking on a cell phone... etc...

Keep you ignorant, assuming comments to yourself. This mom is already going through enough....

its not NEGLIGENCE dumbass.... everyone with kids drive in the rain at some point... Because you never drove a vehicle in a storm WATCH or WARING... haha yea ok! unless you sit your ass at home and go nowhere... YOUR NO VOICE OF REASON.... YOUR A VOICE OF INGORANCE AND STUPIDITY.
