Farmer Denies Chicken Cruelty Despite Video

A farmer accused of animal cruelty on his California egg farm said Tuesday that his chickens are treated well and that gassing a chicken is the most human way to dispose of sick birds.

Studies have proven that people who abuse animals often upgrade their abuse to children and the elderly. Besides, even though their chickens, if such treatment makes them sick, how damn safe do you think the eggs are, since their probably passing the sickness on through the eggs. they don't have to live like kings, just with some comfort.

Cruelty to animals is so commonplace that organizations like the Humane Society are absolutely necessary to fight against human savagery against creatures which do us no harm. We human beings can slaughter our food humanely. Why not do it?

I agree...Animal activists should put their energy towards helping people and not animals. You have to wonder about these folks and their misplaced judgement. KNBC should be ashamed of themselves as well.

Let me ask you this question: Where do you think the bodies of all those dead birds goes? These companies can't just bury them. They go into the food chain, either by being converted to animal food, or by conversion to furtilizer. Either way, somewhere along the line we eat the problem. If we take care of the animals we raise as food, we take care of us.
